Rtek 2.1 Boost Based Timing feature?

Okay, I've recently just finished my car and have outfitted it with an Rtek 2.1 ECU and am currently boosting at 9psi on stock timing. I noticed a little feature that I was curious about "Boost Based Timing" when should someone have this engaged? The car is an S4 TII 720/550 Injectors, Fmic, Ported turbo, ect. all supporting mods. Could someone tell me if I need this checked off or not. Thanks for you're help

Oh I got it! Never mind people, I'm stupid. The ECU in it's stock timing maps are Load vs RPM and can be switched to a boost based timing map. Derp

Don't use the stock/factory Boost based map! you have to input the entire maps (leading and trailing or split)

Yea I've been checking out Rotary Rocket's Load Based Timing corrections which basically simulates what is used in Rtek 1.7 and Arghx Boost Based Timing spreadsheet's it's very interesting. I understanding how timing works, but I don't think I'd be able to make my own set-up's so it's a little frightening. Tuning fuel shouldn't be a problem though to hit my 12psi goal on stock turbo.

I would like to direct another question in this thread, how do you know if Boost Based Timing or Load Based Timing is better for you? I can see the details of both in this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/rtek-forum-1...timing-941044/
I'll sit and put in values as long as I have to to get the best engine performance so that isn't an issue. I'd just like to know what is better? Thanks

These are the details of my engine set-up specifically:
Stock S4 TII motor (8.5:1 Compression Ratio)
Greddy FMIC
550/720cc injectors
FD Fuel Pump
S5 Turbo Charger
Stock S4 AFM
Freeflowing Exhaust
HKS Intake
Oil pressure, Boost, and AFR Gauges

Again I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS FROM YOU USING THESE MAPS.

If you're using a stock turbo, you're probably better off with a modified load-based map or MAP based timing with more advance at high RPM. The stock turbo just runs out of breath up top, and Mazda's maps run a lot of advance to get a bit more power there: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...ck-ecu-943159/

I used the load-based timing for a few years, but switched to MAP-based when I changed turbos.

Thanks for the tip man, I'm going to go implement your modified map and start some fuel tuning. Thanks again!

Make sure your PDA has a good charge, it takes a long time and is very tedious.

I'm still doing fuel tuning now that my engine has more miles(1800) on it, but getting near the end. I made a few adjustments to the timing map at low end to help drivability and off idle response.
