I just upgraded my stock 1987 s4 t2 n332 ecu to a 1.7 as well as the supporting mods (720cc secondaries, walbro 255lph fuel pump), car has s5 Turbo with ported wastegate, full exhaust (2.5" down pipe, 3" mid pipe, 2.5" catback), stock tmic, stock intake/airbox, and stock fpr.

I'm wondering how the setup has worked for everyone, I hear lots of different stories. My plan is to run between 10-12 psi , but the stock tmic is limiting me and I'm not sure how ill be running as far as afr's until I get a wideband, I want to run as safe of a boost level as I can since I just got my engine rebuilt.

I don't have a wideband , but I hope to get one soon, for now a water temp gauge and boost gauge.

you'll be fine. the restrictive air box-to-turbo coupler is a safety feature . don't be surprised if you see the boost taper off as it nears redline.

Yeah ill probably have to block off a bunch of things because I'm taking off all emissions and stuff that's not necessary, and I have a blitz bov.

while you contemplate on the wideband, run a single wire from the 02 sensor to the cockpit and hook up the + lead of a DVM to it and the other lead to ground. As long as voltage is stays > 0.92 under full load engine is getting plenty of fuel. You'll see the voltage sweeping around .5 volts when crusing steady state.

you mentioned "stock intake/airbox" so I assumed stock coupler between airbox and turbo. Why not the factory BOV? It works just fine.

ps- i think your engine builder would advice not to boost until the 1K mile marker.

Oh I know I wasn't planning on boosting until then.
