Question for Rtek for S4 N/A regaurding TPS

With the Rtek, will I be able to hook up the full range TPS instead of using the narrow range?

I have the S5 mani and TB with the S5 TPS setup. The Narrow range is hooked to the ECU and the full range is going to the SAFC.

Thanks in advance

The Rtek ECUs are not programmed for any differences in the TPS... Putting a WB TPS on would do nothing but make your car run like crap.

Damnit.

So this upgrade still will assume 100% throttle at 25%?

I guess I will wait for the next upgrade.

Not sure what that will do. We have no plans of changing this behavior. Not that it's not a possibility in the future, but there is no reason to change it.

What is the fuel correction table going by? Throttle vs RPM? Pressure sensor vs RPM?

If its Throttle vs RPM I can see a full range working a lot better and I think would be more accurate then the pressure sensor if thats what you are using....???

No, its MAP pressure vs RPM, which is far superior than TPS vs RPM systems.

Think about it: Even with a full range TPS, if you floor it, depending what gear your in, the boost will rise, possibly slowly. With A TPS vs RPM map, the fuel correction will be one value (the 100% TPS value) even though there is a wide range of boost pressure at that TPS level. This one value is not optimum for the range of boost levels 100% TPS may see..

With MAP vs RPM systems, it doesn't matter what the TPS is, it depends on the actual boost level, which is much more closely tied to how much fuel you will need.

Ok, I understand. Using the word boost for n/a applications gets kinda confusing. Since we deal with the exact opposite, vacuum.

Your right, i got to remember we aren't just talking turbo 2 with the Rtek now.

Of course with NA applications, the TPS is tied more closely to the manifold pressure, but it's still not as good.

haha, I also noticed in the S4 N/A Manual for Rtek also talks about boost for fuel correction

Well I understand now, so if I end up eventually going with Rtek, I gata find a use for the full range. I was actually thinking of making a controller for the secondary TB plates so they only open the amount they need to open to make maximum power at a given RPM and throttle point. Keep Intake Velocity up.

I guess if you wanted to do some hackjob wiring and bracket modification you could put the S5 dual TPS setup on the S4 throttle body and wire the WB TPS up to one of the loggable inputs (ATP or VarRes) ?

I've got a S5 TB around and my S4 TPS has a flat spot, maybe i'll give it a shot
