Are the boost levels actually acurate?
Yes, boost points are accurate and go up to 1 bar.

most of the time I am under the 15% but when it gets real cold out like 20 degrees I somtime have added like 18% on the SAFC.
For a multitude of reasons that I won't go into (unless you want to hear it), you can't compare % correction settings on the AFC to the Rtek. The % correction on the Rtek is directly controlling pulse width. So +10% is 10% more injector pulse width.

if I changed the setting to 550/720 if that in turn would maybe add more fuel?
Yes, if you needed more than 15% correction running 720's you could run the 550 setting so the 0% correction would be very rich and then you could correct +/- 15% on top of it. The +/- 15% is done after, and on top of any "injector preset" corrections.

Do the settings in the, lets say 6psi boost row actually correspond to the adjustmant of fuel at 6psi?
Of course. This does not only apply to people running a *max* of 6 PSI, this applies to when you are part throttle and happen to be at 6psi.

If i were to buy this 2.0 and run say 13lbs what would i do to adjust the 3psi above the 10psi limit on the tables?
Tables go up to 1 bar. Any boost higher than that would 'hold' the 1 bar correction factor.

even if i were to run 7psi, what would i do with the 8,9,10psi adjustments?
Nothing. You would never get to that part of the correction map so the settings would be moot.

Feel free to browse the instruction manual. (PDF)

so inorder to install the chip, you have to take out the ecu cover and solder it in? what chip do you replace? sorry if i sound noobish but with these capabililtes, i may not have to go the full standalone.

I was thinking about going with the bnr stage 1 turbo, full exhaust, tid, intake, fuel pump with 550/720. could i just plug in the rtek 2.0 and it will just adjust the maps and im good to go?

I don't know what you are referring to. Palm did not give up on the Palm OS at all.

And where else are you going to get a verstile upgradable front end for an ECU for $30?

I highly doubt people would be happy if they had to buy a $250+ Windows Mobile device to control the ECU...

If it were only that easy.

No, *you* have to adjust the maps.

The new Treo is the first Palm device to start using MS WM software...

In the next couple of years it will be phased into all the new Palm mid-level and up products (except the basic contact manger Palms)

And if I am going to upgrade my ECU, I would be willing to spend the $200 for a nice windows based handheld. I would not be buying a POS B/W screen handheld on ebay for $30 and ever expect it to work.

Heck, even a Gameboy would have been preferable to a Palm device running Palm OS.

Heh, you are seriously mistaken if you think the Palm OS is going to be phased out. Yes Palm introduced the treo 700w, but the 700p is already on it's way as well.

Apparently you are a 'windows' person so I won't get into an OS debate.

Ever try adjusting one of those while you're boosting at 100mph+?

Hello all.

This is a hot topic, just thought I would chime in.

Anytime a customer calls my shop we discuss their set up and what their goals are. I have always pushed the Rtek chip for applications of 350 RWHP or less. I push the 1.7 and a superAFC. Most hybrid guys look for 300-350 RWHP which is achievable with a simple chipped ECU all the bolt ons with upgraded pump, injectors, and possibly an AFC and ofcourse the staged turbo that suits their needs. Everyone isn't out there to run 20 psi, some just want a bit over stock and not be on the edge.

I actually run a 1.7 on my personal T2 and a Stage 2 Hybrid. I love it. It makes the car so drivable and user friendly. I have had every ECU on this car and since I put it close to stock, I have never been happier. I am putting the car on the dyno after we dyno my AWD 323. I am aiming for 330-350 RWHP at 1 bar of boost. My T2 gets 20MPG city driving and is close to sounding stock and looking stock. The Super AFC helps with fine tuning or tuning out for larger injectors than what the ECU is programmed for.

The 2.0 I am sure is well planned and thought out. I like the fact you can datalog with UEGO's. That really is a good tool to have when tuning. Also, from what I am informed you can change split timing and the timing map to suit your needs. The only weak point is the map sensor I would say. Some turbos like 60-1 and 62-1 you can get 400 RWHP at 15 psi, so i would say it has that kind of capabilites, but wouldn't stretch it too far beyond the map sensors reach.

I highly reccomend Rteks products for anyone on a budget or wanting to run 15 psi or less on a mildly modified car(350RW or less).

Not recomended unless its only the rears going 100mph+ (ie dyno).

I'll admit that initially I wasn't much into the Palm but after using it, hooked.
Super simple, cheap and small so I just leave it in the car. Toss it in the glove
box or arm rest when not in use, but its always there when you need it.
Like when my alt died, lights dim, radio cuts out, cars still running so pull out
the PocketLogger, select battery volts (TII so no in dash gauge), and see its
only 10.7.

Its a DTI only install as its more than just replacing a chip. It adds a daughter
card inside the ECU.

Ya I am definatly getting this, before you guys get carried away with the S5 and NAs lets take the S4 TII all the way and do whatever is necessary to ditch the MAF or use a higher flowing one.

I would also like to know how many people are running this now. This thread has been a great read, for me anyway. I am still debating Rtek and MS. I am leaning to the Rtek just for the simplicity factor.
