Rtek 2.0 Features

Wondering how they stack up against Stand alones for adjustablity.

"version 2.0 will not only include a 100 point fuel correction map but will also include two 361 point timing maps, one for leading and one for trailing" ~ Taken off of Pocketlogger.com

How do the adjustment maps stack up to most stand alones?

sublime42o 01-28-06 06:40 PM

search

88rxn/a 01-28-06 06:47 PM

stack up.......plug-n-play !!!!!!

AFgreasemnky 01-28-06 07:07 PM

First thank you for the Uber obvious answer of "search" As though i probably didnt do that already because my post count is 1.

And secondly the plug and play is what apeals to me so much about the Rtek. Just wondering how close the Fuel/Timing correction maps come to the correction points on a common stand alone.

In what sense? How close to what? What's a "common" stand alone?

SonicRaT 01-30-06 12:23 AM

That's a whole lot of points to enter!

Carzy Driver 01-30-06 01:44 AM

can't wait! gotta love plug n' play

SonicRaT 01-30-06 01:53 AM

The only problem with that, is it's still using the stock crusty harness, that was one of the best parts about a standalone, getting rid of that busted old peice of crap!

AFgreasemnky 01-30-06 08:18 AM

The more common stand alones used for an RX7... IE Haltech, Wolf 3D, Microtech...

And i really dont mind using the "crusty old harness" As long as you take car of it itll take care of you. Mind you that most vehicles i work on are around the same age as my FC so im used to working around it.

Impressions? Is everyone freaked out by the cost? How do the specs stack up to expectations?

It hasnt been released yet and if the price of $400 that they have on thier site is going to be the final price then i think that is damn good

Sorry to say but it was crap from the minute it left the factory.....
The heat of 15+ years has made it even worse.
I would love a totally gone through harness, but I don't have the patience for that, and would rather get a E8 or E6X.

I was once all for the rtek 2.0, but I think I'll stop at the 1.7 and go with a real standalone.

I have a standalone with my stock harness and I love it :)

Node 01-30-06 07:44 PM

cymfc3s runs a e6k w/ his stock s5 harness, but s5 is better than s4

call me a hypocrite (sp?), but i just saw that rtek 2.0 is out......consider it bought!
i was planning to run an rtek 1.7 w/ my HKS f-con for the adjustability, but I'm going to sell my F-con and just by the 2.0
This way I don't have to immediately upgrade to 720cc injectors and that and selling my fcon makes up for the price :D

But I'm still gonna go standalone when i go bigger than hybrid turbo, and the stock harness still sucks!!!!

arghx 01-30-06 08:20 PM

the 2.0 still runs off the stock AFM though right?

coxxoc 01-30-06 08:51 PM

What makes the s5 harness better than the s4 other than it being a couple years newer?
And, if you hate the old harness, how hard is it to make a NEW one? Just measure the old lengths.

sublime42o 01-30-06 09:00 PM

I know that I would surely mess it all up if I tried to make my own harness, which is why I'm getting the rtek 2.0.

88rxn/a 01-30-06 09:03 PM

im going with the 1.7 for now.. untill someone gets some bas maps on here im not touching it...

kabooski 01-30-06 09:08 PM

if you got the 1K plus to go standalone then by all means do it

this is NOT meant to be head to head with a full standalone

this is for people on a budget and who are not looking to make crazy power

I plan to get it for my other TII when it comes out

I think people will be surprised at the Rtek's capability and we are eager to see how crazy you guys get with it.
