AFM elimination?!!!

I'm pretty sure i saw on the site that this was planned? In the "future plans" section here it says psi based timing instead of load, but what about fuel? Getting a MAP sensor instead of the bulky AFM would be amazing.

Fuel correction already is psi based.

What you want is the AFM elimination.

It is planned, just not right now. It will most likely debut on NA models first.

so this afm removal will result in load-independent fuel maps? does this mean the injector p/w will be pretty much the same for a fixed boost/rpm/temp? meaning, the fuel injection will be the same in 1st gear @wot then in 4th gear @wot?

What stock sensor measures psi on the s4? The boost sensor?

Any idea when? guess at cost of upgrade from prior rtek 2.0s?

Hmm, fuel is always based on some form of load because thats how you will know how much fuel you need. Its how you come to that load value that changes. The problem here is "load" is so ambiguous...it's not tied directly to any one sensor reading. The AFM is currently used to calculate airflow and in turn inj on time. The fuel correction maps in the Rtek are MAP based so the same correction is made for a given boost/RPM, regardless of the airflow/load value. With the AFM eliminated , the MAP sensor will be used in conjunction with RPM and temp to calculate theoretical airflow. A boost vs RPM VE map will be used to apply a VE correction of 0 to 100%. On top of that, the normal boost vs RPM fuel correction map will be applied.

does this mean the injector p/w will be pretty much the same for a fixed boost/rpm/temp?
Right.

Is there a stock s4 sensor that measures PSI? I've been confused about this for a while... I'm pretty sure i saw one in the s5 fsm but i cant think of one on an s4...
