viper diff on my fd
hello u all,
looking at a viper diff wile back it looked like it would be an easy swap,
so I started serching the net and I found a guy that put one in a fd with gn
powerplant,
I lost his link but I saved the pics of the forum,
I finaly started on my 3rd gen viper diff,
I am going to need u guys help on the angles so should I keep the oem angle's
on the axels or have them with no angle at full squat when launching?
also I have seen someone on the forum reinforce the conecting points of the a and control arms on the sub frame is that needed?
drive shaft shop is waiting on my dimensions for custum axles,
they will use 3rd gen viper inner joints and the shaft rated 1200hp+
& fd outer and hub rated @ 1000hp+,
I plan to run a close ratio t56 magnum transmission, I allready have the t56 conversion kit with twin spec clutch,
on the engine I plan 91mm turbo
let me know what u guys think I should beef up
here r couple pics of the diff

Where did you get the T56 conversion kit? I've been trying to get someone to sell me an adapter plate that's milled to mate up to an REW auto-bellhousing for a minute now. . .I don't know anybody local that I'd trust to center the input shaft correctly.

I like the Viper housing more than the Cobra housing, easier mounting. I've got the "Paul3rdGen" diff brace in my FD, I'm sure it could be adapted to either though.
How much do Viper diffs go for? I seem to find them for $1k+. Also, they're viscous not clutch type from the factory right?

yep, I gaved my other diff to sam he will run the same setup on his 20b fd,
our only problem is we dont have time to breathe, + we both have a bad habbit we get to excited and start to many projects at the same time instead of start and finish one at a time,
good news is I have my good friends,
chriss green (ex porsche cup car guy) help with suspension,
victor sanches and sam will help with the engine tricks,
and steve kan will help me with the 91mm turbo feeding a smaller turbo set up
hope to have it ready early next year
I think we make a good team

I hear you, I think quite a few of us do that. That's another project I would like to see running, Sam's 20B. You do have a good team.
