Awesome, why didn't you fix your old custom intake ?

Love it, though !

Good luck and be safe.

We mounted the mechanical fuel pump where the alternator was located,on the engines left lower side ,about the intake i have a better throttle response with the mini plenum .I can make more boost at lower rpm !!

Awesome, glad you found more/better boost.

If you don't mind me asking, what type of ignition are you using now ? It looks like you've changed ignition setups from your previous setup. I see a couple of MSD coils, what type of boxes are you using ?

Any info on the car is appreciated. Love it !

what up everyone. This is my friends mazda rx7 and yes we are ready to go racing in 08.

He is using an xtreme rotaries bracket kit with a Aeromotive mechanical Pump.

The bracket Kit comes complete with all pulleys. They are really good looking parts

and the installations is a breeze.

Here is a different style that xtreme rotaries makes.

i change to a new set of msd ignition boxes with retard stages and a set of ss blaster coils . I'm also adding a nitro/alky nos solenoid to turn on via a pressure switch to add extra fuel for high boost (cheap, simple)it works good !!most of the 7sec rotary cars we see have this set up running . I hope this time this thing can post some good numbers !!!let's see

What are the advantages and disadvantages of running a mechanical fuel pump vs an electrical? Car looks great BTW.

To get the most out of electrical pumps, you must run a 16 volt electrical system. Most electrical pumps are rated for gas not alky (if your on gas there are plenty of electrical pumps on the market that will work good).

With a mechanical fuel pump there are alot of advantages. First you don''t have to worry about the 16 volts, second you are not pushing large amounts of fuel at lower RPM. Keep in mind in our set up were were running two large Weldon pumps that require , not only the voltage but also, a good return system, so you are not running all that fuel at idle or lower RPM. And the biggest advantage, this thing supports up to 2500 hp gas , when you break that down with alcohol roughly you can support about half of that. (1200- 1300 hp) Not bad huh? and the cost is less than those two $800 dollar electric fuel pumps.

One thing to keep in mind, is that you can either run the fuel cell mounted in the front or you can leave it in the back. It's a good investment for your rotary.

How hard are startups with that mechanical pump ? They takes lots of cranking to get the system primed right ?

Not if everything is done correctly. After a revolution or two there will be enough pressure to start.

And if your running e85 you can use a priming pump with 87 oct to help start if you want.

Good news (RMS Motorsports in Los Angeles CA) Has a new dyno jet !!! I was honored late last night to be the first one to make a few passes during the early calibration process. We have a few new parts on the car, like the mechanical fuel pump, Synapse waste gate and MSD electronic boxes. Some early numbers at 5900 engine rpm we made 400hp at the wheels with 20psi , a fully hung open waste gate
prevented from further testing. Will be back next week to fine tune and make necessary adjustments. I'm happy for Rene and his dad and their business and to see them prosper .thx
