Parts backorders are keeping me at bay but here's a little eye candy in the meantime.

man you are not playing around you are the only one i know on the west that is doing the all motor the way it should be done my motor has carbon seals and stock 9.7 rotors you should go very fast with all those good parts good luck

Looks great... Any particular reason for going with Iannetti seals rather than the average "run of the mill" brands?

I wanted to run Ceramic 2mm 2 piece because they seal better than the one piece. By other "run of the mill brands", I assume you are talking about NRS because I don't know of anyone else who makes ceramic seals? The reason I went with Iannetti is because I believe they are the best ceramic seal and I got them for the same price as the NRS.

Sorry, I missed your post Eric.

We'll see Eric, sometimes the most expensive big buck combo's run slower than the average low budget setup. In fact from what I have heard, when Padilla ran the 9.8, he didn't have anything too fancy inside his motor. Maybe the lighter rotors will kill my launch, maybe not. We'll just have to see. My 12a motor had worn out rotorhousings and RB carbon apex seals and stock unbalanced rotating assy and I ran a 6.9 in the 8th. BTW- Racing beat has been experimenting with 2 piece carbon apex seals and I think they will be coming out pretty soon. From what I was told they made more power at lower rpm's but didn't really make any more power at high rpm's than the one piece carbons. I'll try and get more info as they are still testing them.

Ok cool... I've realized that there are MANY ways to skin a cat. IMO, no one seal or brand is superior to the other given that they're used within their designed parameters..
Eg. Kilo Racing - The world's fastest A/M is making over 400hp on $300 Super Seals and he's extremely reliable. La Otra- The world's quickest 13b is using a 4brl style TB with $450 seals, while Pica is using a plenum style intake with Iannatti seals. Both cars are making around the same HP, judging by their MPH..

In rotaryland, no one combo is better than the other... Quality parts are important but the simple setups are proving themselves everyday with the same HP & consistency

I totally agree. The other reasons I went with the ceramics is because they leave little to no wear on the rotorhousings and I have heard of people using the same seals in 10 rebuilds and also that they are very light. I don't know how light the Super Seals are but I have heard many many cases where they cause alot of premature wear on the rotor housings. So I would rather spend 1000 bucks on ceramic seals that will cause little to no wear on housings and can re- use in multiple rebuilds than spend 300 bucks on a set of seals that could take out a $2000+ dollar set of rotorhousings.

I hear ya... I mentioned super seals as an example but I don't think I'll use anything other than ALS or RxParts on my engines. I'm happy with their performance on alcohol

Thanks and if I were to go turbo, I would 100% use ALS or RXparts seals without a doubt. Has anyone tested ALS or RXparts seals in a high horsepower N/A engine?

Average run of the mill brands? He must have been talking about the many steel seals available.
There is nothing run of the mill about NRS seals. If you got them for the same price as NRS then cudos to you because I had understood you could only get them from Mazda motorsports division. Seems Ianettti breaks the deal he has with Mazda whenever it suits him and sells them direct for less than Mazda can offer them.

Glassman, the NRS seals and Ianetti seals are both very nice seals. In fact one can argue till the cows come home on which one is better. I got a good deal and bought the Ianetti's, that's it. I don't know of to many people running metal type seals in high rpm N/A applications as most tend to chatter and eat up housings. I think that for N/A applications the ceramic seal, whether it be NRS or Ianetti, is the best option for horsepower, compression, and longevity.

Hey Jay TNT at Irwindale on thursday nights are they strict on the inspection's? what about mufflers?

I did some TNT down here at barona blew out my clutch slave throwing second...

Yes, they are pretty strict and you have to run mufflers. Everything else is the same rules like when you went to Fontana.

Well I finally got my new competition rotor bearings that were on backorder. That's what has been holding me back for so long. I was about to clearance my side seals and put the motor together tomorrow and found that Mazda sent me side seals for Renesis rotors. So I had to re order today, so most likely I should have the motor assembled in a few days when the new seals arrive. Then I have a few odds and ends like a custom intake and exhaust that needs to be finished. I am shooting for hopefully two to three weeks before it's in the car running.

Besides, I gotta give Manny enough time to get his car down here and ready to race.
