Possibly dumb nitrous question
Possibly dumb nitrous question
We are talking about a simple plate setup running 1 nitrous and 1 fuel jet (single stage).
Which of these 2 scenarios would be safer and/or better? We are only discussing the fuel side of the nitrous system.
Scenario 1 - Fuel supply line to TEE then 2 regulators. 1 set to ~3 PSI (Nikki carb) and other set to 7 PSI to run nitrous side.
Scenario 2 - Fuel supply to single regulator set at ~3PSI and then TEE and run both sides of fuel system at same pressure with adjusted fuel jet size on nitrous side to compensate.
Scenario 2 sounds safer to me but not really sure if it will work correctly with the much lower pressures for the nitrous side. Ideas? Suggestions? I really dont want to run 2 separate fuel systems as there just really isnt that much room under an FB to make this all work without some serious fab underneath.
Should say that 100 shot is the absolute max that will be run, and even then it will most likely end up in the 75 area.
TIA,
-IanS

Scenario one won't work at all. You'll get 3 psi on each side since the 7psi side will not bypass anything, all the bypassed fuel will find the path of least resistance through the 3psi regulator.
If you want to run two separate pressures a check valve in the higher pressure side might allow what you want to do, not sure though.
