GA Please educate meon the pop!

I was a the track this past weekend and we had a good rotary car turn out.. I noticed that everyone.. not just one but everyone.. Reved their cars all the way up and then let off of them so that they get this huge pop..

Even the high dollar 4 second cars did this.. Then they did it again at the tree.. Is there a reason for it or is just fun to watch the other car owners come out of their skin....

And what kind of porting do the realy quick cars have? I noticed they sound a good bit diffrent..

Na.. I am talking about them just sitting there reving them to the limiter and letting off in the pits.. Everyone did it.. more than once to include the big money cars.. Was just wondering what the need was... I know about the 2 steps... But this is in the pits and at the starting line before they stage...

I thought about that and that makes since.. But even the NOS and motor guys did it. That is what was confusing.... I have to admit that it sure did give me the itch to build me one...

On the turbo cars you're hearing the two step/rev limiter. On the N/A, nitrous cars you're hearing the rev limiter.

as far as i know my mechanic tells me to rev it up, to clear the carbon out the engine, for better performance all my rotary buddies do the same on Nitrous to see if its activating..

most guys just do it, for a pre-race test of all the fuel or nitrous tuning threw the revs. sometimes **** happens just before your test run. and they rev it out. I personally don't like to give the engine un-wanted over revs..

Well out here in the american muscle land, where 80% of americans dont even know what a rotary is we tend to show off and watch everyone grab their kids and run for cover everytime a nitrous activates and lets out a massive fireball were usually the main event out... its funny how everyone walks up to ask the silly questions...plus why own a rotary if i cant rev the **** out of it?

or are you talking about the slight free rev that the racers do, and on the decell it pops or booms , alot of guys do it when warming up their cars and alot of guys do it creping up to the staging light beams, it has a nice methanol pop, its a deep kind of boom that happens with over fuelling on decell and it booms or pops
yeh nah but thats what it sounds like your asking to me
