Nitto 555r or BF drag radials or other?

My rx7 fd is pushing 350whp with stock turbo. my friends' fd with similar setup and horse power had a 1/4 of 12.7 with 2.00 60ft. with radials. then with the nitto 555r he made a 12.34 with 1.8 60ft.

Do i really needed tires like 555r for only 350whp? which drag radials tires are the best?

^^^^ Agreed 1.72 60ft with 245/40/18 and they wore well. But at 14psi they will crack on the inside so air them up after the track!

how much do thes bfs cost? about $150 per tire? Do you recommend buying a set of rims just for these tires or can i put them on my street rims everything i go to the track? do the always taking off and putting on damage the tire?

As above, get the BFG's. They are proven to be the best drag radial tire. "BUT" I would skip the radials and get some et streets on spare fd wheels. Guys are cuting 1.5 to 1.6's on these. That would get you into the 11's with 350rwhp..

If you plan getting a couple rims to put the drag tires on, i would definitely go with a bias ply tire. In they are going on your regular wheels, i'd go with a radial. Just be careful, radials break ****.

i need drag radials tire to compete legal in my country. I am torn b/w the bf drag radials and the nitto 555r. My friends Fd manage to do 12.1 with a 1.6 60ft with nitto 555r. He uses them on his car every day.

Are the BFs better? Are they streetable? Can i use them for track and street?

DR's are verrrrry sticky. And they do not flex in the sidewalls like a similar size bias ply will. You'll hook hard with a properly warmed drag radial, but if you hook too hard, the whole shock goes to the driveline, and **** breaks.

The bfg's good but go with the tallest sidewall to help keep from breaking things.

I have the BFGs.. They are great drag radials and prob the cheapest ones at 150 a tire. They are very soft but dont last long for everyday driving.. Mine went very quick and there is no grip in the rain at all so drive with caution or keep a set on spare rims.

The best drag radial is the Mickey Thompson. The BFG's work better at the track than the Nitto's. The Nitto's work good on the street and last the longest. It is really kind of a trade off. If you need to buy tires why not get them.
