I only hit 149mph once, but then again, only went 9's once too, but still went! lol..

And the stock tranny effects your 60' when the output shaft snaps like a twig!

What is your most reliable 60 ft with a stock gear box.

Get it right!
It was a 8.75 Mopar!

Back then racing was a serious buisness if you wanted to make it to the finals.
I was there when Gaby ran that! I don't think the car was at 600hp at that time because it was still on the smaller turbo.

When I got my launching down is when I REALLY started to break tranny's. I went from high 1.6x 60's down to low 1.4's and got about 4 passes out of a tranny.

Reliable means it actually made it down the track after the 60ft!
I know it was 1.3 something. More than likely a 1.39.
Anything quicker and it was a snaped output shaft. Most of the times the driveshaft could not be remove from a twisted shaft especially after breaking 3rd gear for like the million time.
Good thing is that there are ways around that now and it does not require a new main/output shaft for the tranny.

My buddy got a couple of mid to low 1.4's with BFG drag radials at one event. He even won a set of free tires for doing it!

Theres a guy up in winter haven that makes helicut dog gear set
does away with 5th gear, but the weak point is still the shafts
I could even have a pro-shifted kit installed in a T2 transmission
but still again the stock shafts are the weak point , unless you have some slippage on your take offs....

My best has been 1.48 on stock suspension
