I never realized how much higher the 3rd gen intake sits than the 2nd gen intake. Any suggestions on making my hood fit? Anyone run into this problem? Any certain hood scoops I should keep my eye out for?

Well, I'm in the midwest so we don't have open racing year round. So, probably not until Spring.

I kinda need a tune up first.

I wonder what tech will say when they realize I have no roll bar/cage?

Got the same hood problem with the 20B FB I'm working on. It allllllllmost fits without any modification. We're probably going to get some kind of fiberglass cowl and have it worked in.

Call S&W race cars. They have a nice cage for your car. Notched, measured, bent and ready to weld-in.

Hey Eric, thought you might be interested in knowing that El Grillete ran a new PB of 4.98@140 in the 1/8 this weekend with a 1.20 60ft.

Good luck with your project...

I would be happy with 500hp. Anything more is just a bonus.

i think you need to throw on a third 044, it seems like the limiting part of the equation with e85.

otherwise its awesome!!

bosch 044 pumps are rated at 200lph at 72.5 psi. 43.5 psi base and 29 psi of boost. Most injectors' flow rates are measured at 43.5 psi base pressure.

400lph=6666.7 cc/min

injector capacity=8*1680cc/min=13440cc/min of injector

max duty cycle without seeing fuel pressure drop=6666.7/13440=49.6%

Using internal energies, you need 1.53 as much ethanol to produce same internal energy as gasoline. So 4357.32 cc/min of gasoline.

4357.32*.8/(BSFC*10.5)=estimated max flywheel hp, BSFC=.65 (injector.com lists this at .6-.7 for rotary engines)
max fwhp=510.75hp

If you are running <29psi of boost you will be able to have a higher maximum hp because the pumps flow more at lower boost.

How much boost were you planning on running?

I'm trying to concentrate more on power than PSI. But, I imagine 33-35 psi will do the trick.

The below quotes are what convinced me to go with dual 044's.
