Koni Yellows and Drag Racing

I currently have Koni Yellows and H&R Springs on my FD. I'm debating selling the Koni's because I figure they are too stiff to 60 foot well (even on full soft), and I figure I can make some money off them as well.

Anybody with experience with aftermarket shocks like these at the drag strip? If I change the shocks out, should I go back to stock? Does the Touring Model have softer shocks than other FD RX7's?

I would get tires first. 10.50x26x16 et streets run at about 15/16 psi. I run stock suspension touring with these tires and have got 1.52 60 ft times. And the tires mentioned fit stock wheels.

If you want to make the shocks work as well as possible for drag racing just send them in to Koni and have the valved for it. Konis can be set up to do whatever you want them to do. The springs might not be ideal for drag racing. Again, you could swap them out for whatever would work best.

I'll be on bigs and skinnies, with ET Streets - not worried about that.

Is the touring suspension significantly softer than other models? Has anyone had any luck with Koni's? Will I be able to hook with H&R Springs and stock shocks?

i have koni yellows on stock springs and i've been getting 1.7's and 1.8 60ft's on normal street tires. i just set the rears on full soft and it seems to hook up pretty well with stock alignment settings.

Thanks, this sounds encouraging. Can anyone with drag radials and these shocks chime in with results?

If I can get both to hook the same (stock shocks and Koni's) - I think I'd rather sell the Koni's and use the money for something else since I'm not interested in road racing.
