You to Mike. I wish we had more time to chat but those races are always a rush and seems like they want to hot lap you.

I am just getting in now. Long day. I was a bit worried the day was going to suck after we had the blow out on the trailer on the way down. Since my trailer uses mobile home style wheels I was thinking I was screwed finding a place that would have them. They ended up grinding the lip to clean it up. Driving 20 miles with the wheel hitting the road, I didnt think it would be usuable. But in the end it worked out. I am guessing the high today had to be near 98-100. I know the track surface temp was 153! So with the heat we had to deal with no records were going to get made.

Videos to come!

Made up a video of all but my first qualifying pass. My car was all over the place so I had to let out after 1/8th mile marker. Sorry I didnt get any of the other rx7's.

Enjoy:

Over all I was very happy the way my car ran. The logs looked perfect. I could have leaned it at a good bit. I guess with the air being so HOT it was not making good power. AFR's were high 10's to low 11's. Was running 27-28psi. I swapped rear wheels on the last 2 runs. Not sure why but on my new welds I am loosing .2 to .3 on the sixty footers. I swapped and was only off by .15 to .2. The track temp was 153 so nobody was going to hook hard. So 9 second pass for me but I still feel strong about getting it when the air cools down. My 10.27 passes were 6.6's in the 1/8th.

I had a blast also. Thanks Mike for running the "big boy class" instead of the RWD class. That made room for me and Mike. I had a vbox on my first 2 runs. They were my 2 slowest runs but 0-60 mph was 3.57 sec., 0-100 was 7.15 sec., and 60-130 was 7.47 sec. I think I could get my 60-130's down into the 6's. My shift points were not optimal. I was always curious about the 0-60 mph times.
I never had a run where I got everything right but I am getting better.

Nice! I'm insanely jealous! Quick question...what turbo are you running? I'm working building my car, and I'm looking to make around 550 and would like to do it on a BW S366.

No problem man! I was a bit worried when they bumped the m/s and showdown class together. I just wish I had more time to talk cars with you and try to help you on getting yours dialed in. I only got to see you make 2 passes. One when you were just going to work on your launch, btw it sounded mean as he'll on the 2 step. Much better than my 13b! The other was the final, they were waving us up to burn out box and I was 100feet from my car trying to watch you and mike make the final pass.

Oh, it's going to happen! My 10.27 pass was .2 off my best 60 foot. So even in the shitty heat if I could have hooked it was there. My problem is the closest 1/4 track is over an hour away and I have a 1/8 mile track almost in my back yard. So I always test there.

Hey thanks man! Your car is sweet and I've tried to keep up on everything you've done over the years. Hoping to have mine put together by the end of the year, so I can come join you guys at some of the races. Congrats on your finish too!

Still running pump gas. Never really had a clean pass but the best pass was 133mph. I trapped 135 a month ago but both were in the heat of the day. I would expect my traps to be in the 140 range though if my whp numbers are correct. Oh, my shifting also kills me with my stock trans. When my Liberty modded trans gets back, it should help me.

was her running full power at 748hp? only ask because it seems to be a slow time if he is running that much power. Unless he is spinning all the way! i have seen rx7 running 9 with around 600+

im just trying to guesstimate what my times should be when i go to the track.

but love the video dont see many street 20b's running at the track.

135 mph trap speeds on pump gas is still impressive. No need for excuses with those numbers. Getting a clean pass out of a 400rwhp Fd isn't easy, nevermind a 700+hp car. I'm sure on a good pass it will trap in the 140s which is just awesome on pump gas. Hopefully no one will turn this into an HP debate with his car. 135mph on pump gas is "gettin it" no matter what hp numbers the dyno says.

I'm sure with the heat i was not making 750. I wonder about the hp numbers myself sometimes. I have a ways to go with setup. I'm anxious to get a solid run.
