LS1 rx7's suck. If you wanta talk about v8's, go to another forum. This is a rotary drag forum. BTW- The chevy guys hate the guys who put their v8's in rx7's just as much as we do. Take it to the bastard forum, oh, I mean the engine conversion forum.

To the v8 guys:
You're never going to convince someone of the merit of your ways so just stop. There are many paths to speed including far weirder *ish than anything in this thread. There also is no BEST solution, because best is always in the eye of the beholder and has to do with personal experience. BlueRabbit knows small blocks and has one of the more wicked back halved cars around. Sounds like the OP knows and likes the rotary... good for him. If everyone only cared about speed per dollar we'd all be driving gutted fox body mustangs and that's a world that would suck mightily.

To the rotards:
I don't CARE what Mazda meant there to be under the hood and I'm tired of hearing folks repeat it mindlessly. Nobody on this board leaves their cars stock regardless. Shut up and be happy that your engine bits get easier to come by as other folks yank them out.

To the OP:
You seem like a pretty cool kat with your head on straight. I for one, appreciate the fact you didn't get riled up by the BS in here. Nice numbers from a nice car. I'm glad it's treated you right and if you're ever out in Cali I'd be glad to introduce you to some cool folks out this way.

Thanks man.. I am too old to get into the hole v8 vs rotary debate.. I was a Ford guy before and my brothers have had everything old school from camaro's, torino, fairlanes, 65 gt, 76 cobra, 84gt350, 85gt, 91gt, challengers, ss trail blazer...... So I have learned to respect any well put together car. You know how it is, you tinker with whatever you have in your garage.. If I had the bad luck as some have had with countless blown rotaries I too would be driving a piston car. Just have to draw the line somewere.... For now I will keep pushing the 13b.

I have no beef with Lane or Hinson as they are local and have provided me short blocks and other FD parts. I dont want any beef as I know they have cars that can hand me my ***. Lane (Hinson guy) just made a bolt in chevy 12 bolt diff. Something I will be looking into. The only point I was making in the first post was how much crap they talk about rotaries and how the night ended...

Now has anybody looked at the chart I posted and what is your thoughts on the rpm vs mph?

So no 10 flats, all stripped down well below 3300lbs, grazy gearing, and a lot are running autos with high stalls, just like you described them, "10 flats with just a cam"

Just having fun with you, but most of those cars are putting out trap speeds that can be accomplished with bnr stage IIIs on pump gas

SO.. Cam only eh... No port intakes nor slicks.. just cams... =p Pushrod = the magic engine

SO if that statement is correct.^^

Rotaries have more of a stock block. I mean we only change apex seals and port the intake.

Everything else is stock.. SO rotaries push more power on "stock blocks"

Thats how i look at it.

For our short block to support 500- 600. We do apex seal swap. f FOR LSI to make 500 t0 600. How much of the block/head has to get modded?

1. The person who wins the championship is ALWAYS cheating.

2. All cars faster than YOURS are cheating.

3. All people slower than YOU know YOU'RE cheating.

4. If your name is DJseven, well....come on...

5. The tech guys hate YOU but let everybody else slide.

6. All the OTHER people ruin it for everybody else.

7. If it wasn't for people like YOU, racing would totally suck.

8. Any car not built under a tree in a backyard by an idiot making less per hour than YOU is a cheating, professional race car.

9. Any racer who willingly spends more money than YOU is cheating.

10. Any racer whose vehicle works better than YOURS is cheating.

So what do you guys think a taller tire would do to me? I have some 11.5 et streets and they are .3/.4 or so taller than the 10.5's I run. I have to get my fenders rolled first but they are mounted up and ready to go...

That's what I ran on my FD, the 11.5 ET Streets. Not sure if they helped or hurt.

Rotary's or v8 doesn't matter its your car do with it what you wish.

props again to the o.p on the passes, i ran et streets 26/11.5's and didn't have the trouble's your having with traction, on stock rear fenders on a lowered car. so you shouldn't have a problem fitting them
