How long on plugs?

Just wondering how often you guys swap the race plugs? I am going to an event this weekend and wonder if I should bring an extra set? These have a dyno day and 7 passes on them....??

The main factor that limits plug life is plug gap/ground. Just pull a plug and check the plug gap. If the gap is ok and the ground electrode has plenty of meat then your ok.

Allways before a race event check your race plugs and swap them for clean ones at least ... and allways take at least an extra set of plugs just in case you need them. You never know (: I have seen people lose events just because they left the extra set of plugs at home , shop , etc.

Good advice. With C16 I went through 4 sets last year. I don't let the car idle with them. At the track I will warm up the car with 9s and then swap them out before a run. Before going home I swap the 11.5s out again and go back to the 9s. Some say to clean them with the air powered spark plug cleaner. Always keep a new set on hand like travieso says.

I dyno with a new set, then dyno with my older set and if the HP is the same I use the older set. Sounds silly but at the cost of new plugs at $140 a set, I'd rather do that. I don't pay for dyno time so that helps as well.
