Guru half inch studs for an FD

I have not been able to find a torque spec for the 1/2 inch (12.7mm) guru engine studs.the set I have are the ones that 7 go through the whole engine.what's are you torqueing these studs to or do you know what guru recommends?I think I over torqued the last engine!

I don't know for sure, but I would think they would be the same as the stock ones.

thank you all!!it is kinda hard for me to understand the very low torque for these studs.the torque spec for a 1/2 inch bolt is 75+- 15.i had torqued the last engine to 60ft pounds, this is the minimum torque value for a 1/2 inch bolt.i know the studs are acting as dowels but would there not be an advantage with a higher torque?

All you need is just enough clamping force to compress the water seals. Any more than that and you are not actually strengthing the motor much at all if any.

Email Extreme Rotary and ask what they recommend. Its their setup so Rohan (spelling?) would know best.

Remember what your torquing down. You're torquing the same plates/housings. It doesnt matter how big of a bolt your using the torque spec should be the same. YOu can go up a couple of ft lbs but the engine was designed to be torqued to the specs. You start going over the specs and you start crushing seals and put extra load on the bolts. The larger bolts are there to help keep the motor from twisting. I wouldn't go over 35ftlbs.

For out stud kits we recommend 32 ft lbs. We have run them near 50 ft lbs and you will wear the side plates considerably more.
