this weekend. I'm going to try and see if I can get my bodywork done and primer so I can make this race but it's about a 1% chance. Either way, I'll be at the track to watch and help my fellow rotary brethren.

Rearend is finished and installed. Just need to plumb the rear brakes and she's ready to roll. Had a few shipping set backs so this next event I'm not going to make but will watch on the side lines with all the other SoCal racers.

Rearend came out really nice and fits like a glove. Can't wait to see how it works with the new adjustments. Oh, yeah, I got some new upgraded shinny stuff on the ends too.
Had to get the Aerospace rear brakes to batch the fronts. I shaved 20+ lbs just from switching to these brakes over the Explorer brakes I had, plus their so purty. Here's some pics. Hope to be at the track within the next 3-4 weeks for testing.

Thanks.
Ok she's on all 4.
Dropping it off next Thursday to get the body/paint done.
Should be ready to hit the strip in a couple weeks or so.
See you guys at Fontana on the 12th. Hopefully some rotaries will come out of the woodworks.

Great work! I'm gonna knit pick though and suggest you put a large diameter washer on the heim joint at the axle end of the panhard bar. That should be standard procedure on any heim or bushing that is held in single shear like you have there. The idea is the washer (having a larger OD than that of the bearing) would keep the panhard bar from separating from the axle if the heim joint failed.

Looking good Jay... Did you beef up the body where the 4 link bolts to?
I ask that question because my rear is also mounted in the stock location and I worry about it ripping out of the car.

Thanks and yes I did. If you look closely in one of those pics you can see that added weld joints on the frame. The factory just spot welded the brackets in place. I had them welded all the way around and inside. The wall thickness of the metal should be ok as if you look closely the stock one's have a washer welded on top of metal, you just want to keep the bracket from ripping apart from the frame.

[QUOTE=oldrotaryman;10063990]Was up. Car has been at bodyshop for the last week and should be in primer
by the end of next week. I have a guy doing the bodywork at his house and he is retired so he works on it here and there. Although this takes more time I get a really good deal in the end so it's worth it. After I get it back I'll throw some pics up and then I will be off to the dragstrip for some testing of the new rearend setup. I'll keep you posted. Thanks

Ok guys, finally got a new update. It has been a long process but the bodywork is done and the car has been jammed. The final paint job should be done by midweek and then it's finally back to the track for some more runs. This paint is so bright green you have to wear sunglasses to look at it. Porsche GT3 RS racing green to be exact. You either love it or hate and my son and I love it so that' s all I car about. LOL One things for sure people are going to remember this car. Here's some pics of the bodywork and I'll post pics of the finish car very soon. Hope you like.

Oh, and a nice black rotary-works sticker would look nice on my car from my new sponser eh? You do want your sticker to be on the next worlds fastest all motor rotary stock chassis right?

Ok, just got her back from paint. Aside from a few small blemishes here and there it turned out bitchin. I'm so freaking stoked that the paint color came out exactly the same as the porsche GT3rs. The pics don't bring out the true color, but it is GREEN! MAN I LOVE IT. I'm almost too afraid to race in now. LOL I still have to mount the lexan windows and some trims and then I'll do a full photo shoot and video. Should be out testing at the 1/8th mile next thursday. Tell me what you think. Even you Rotaryboys because I know your watching.

Regarding the straps- each one is rated for 2000lbs. I have 4 plus a smaller one and the car only weighs 1780lbs, so I feel pretty safe. I am going to step up to the larger 4" straps soon though.
