I think a lot of the reasons before were the sanctioning bodies for sport compact drag, but those are gone. But, who likes to drive a slush box off the track?

Caribean has a c-4 set up for $3500.00 but your looking at 6,000 to 7,000 stall which will make city driving a little fun.

I think a problem is it takes so long to stage and get up on the trans brake and get stall and boost its a pain. There seems to not be enough torque to get set up quickly.
I could be wrong but i had 2800 stall 512 gears and 29.5 tall slicks and it was not even close to working, im thinking going back to manual tranny.

So school me on the g-force, liberty etc... Not that I really need one now but something to keep in mind. Is there any clutchless units that you just bang gears?

Yep, the Gforce comes in clutch assisted and non clutch-assisted. I think the Liberty is clutch assisted? Not sure. But any dog box can be called clutch-assisted, although not necessary, you can just bang the gears.

I had RAy look over my log and he thinks it is clutch slipping not wheel spin so I guess its new clutch time. This one has 3k miles on it. 20 or less passes...

I went back and listened and sure is slipping!
Im running the hks twin disc and i like it so far! I found it to be much more consistent than the non slip type clutch!

The last trip was 11.2 and 3 10.9's and seemed smooth. I was not launching it hard though becouse i had no tralior there.

just spoke to ACT and they said they do not rebuild them. Sucks as this cover is drilled for balancing the motor. So what now?

you might have been slipping ont he flywheel side and not the pressure plate side....

might be able to get away with a new disk and a da sander or resurfaced flywheel

Eric, I am hoping thats the case.

Thinking about a sintered iron disk. What you guys think?

- Recommended for clutch-less shifting (Drag Race transmissions only)
- Very high torque capacity
- Extremely durable and heavy
- Very harsh engagement
