Finally got in the 6's (1/8th).. video also..

I knew it was just a matter of time as the car is making plenty of power to get there but it was always one thing or the other. First pass was the best but still had wheel spin. Made 2 more passes but missed 3rd both times and had to get the kiddies home. That was the best part of the night, bringing the kids to the track for the first time with daddy!!!

thanks Chris!

You guys might be able to shed some light on one issue for me. As night fell my brother caught on tape sparks coming from under my car on take off and after another shift?? I was thinking clutch as I have not put the small cover back on the bell housing yet. Can or will a ACT 6 puck do this? or am I into the rivets already?

Normally that's the clutch and you could hear it on the video.

As in slipping or rivets hitting the flywheels-presure plate or just the normal thing on that clutch?

Sub 10sec run right there, the works paying off!
Sparks are like cris said probley the clutch, any ceramic parts on the clutch.

Get to a 1/4mile track and have some fun, and quit missing 3rd!

Thanks busted and projectD..

I had a HUGE grin on my face coming back to the pits.. 1.5 years chasing that number. What was nice was driving to to the track the way I ran it. Just pulled in and let some air out and lined up..

So much for just wanting a 6.999999999999 It appears to have some 6.50s in it.

Thanks guys. I am running et streets. I have managed to get the 60's consistant (1.56-1.62's) for last 4 passes. Just need to get the thing to hold in top of 1st and 2nd. Then just have to quite missing 3rd..LOL...

Wondering if I put softer springs on if that will help?

BTW.... Ray Wilson did a great job tuning it for me!

Dude you're already leaps and bounds above the average racer (not to mention rotary!) just keep doin what you're doin

that sounds like pretty good 60's for stock rear, you could try softer springs, but I'm not sure how much lower you'll get them!

Yeah. I have a tranny brace. I think its half my fault trying to hit it too quick and the tranny having 30-40k with 200+passes on it most likely isnt helping. I have a low mile Jspec as a back up. Been thinking C4 for a winter project....

Speaking on that. Why are not more rotary guys using auto's. I think all the local supras I know 2 being original 6 speeds are on th400's now. I bet there could be a small market for a proven conversion. I know Caribean has one but have they did it in a FD and how did it work out?
I remember a few years back there was a guy taht did a th350 and had all sorts of issues with the tranny brace and geting the gearing right. Not sure if he even went thru the work geting a big stall dialed in or if it had a brake..???
