I don't know the weight capacity, but there are people a lot faster and heavier than me running them just fine. I drove on them a lot on the street this past summer without and problems.

FD spares and the firestones work just fine for me. Not as baller as the Welds and other drag rims, but they work and don't looks too bad when powdercoated either.
Hey you have any close up pics of your bumper? I just got the 99 spec and looks like you have the same FMIC and wondering if you trimmed the tabs off the main opening? Thanks
As far as skinnys i went with the FD spares and Kenda 130/90-16 rear K673s for now. Im having all the body work done this month, AEM, and a 6 point the following, so im on a budget. Think i may go with the cokers when i get some extra money but Kenda were nice @ $73.00 per tire

Less roll resistance.. But the reason most run them is Cokers unlike the Kenda motorcycle tire are bias ply so the match the bias ply et streets, makes for a better ride-control on the big end. Not a fun ride when running radial's up front with non radial in rear..
Kenda makes bias ply tires as well in fact the ones that were mentioned K673 are bias ply tires. And coker makes radials as well. the reason people use them is that they are cheap and not many other companies offer bias ply for 16 inch rims.
Didnt realize any motorcycle tires were bias ply... Learned something new today...

Well i learned last year et bias plys sway alot and i was running my street wheels in the front and it was always over correcting when i would have to steer a little. Skinnys keep it more stable. Not sure about driving them on the street.
I had et front runners before and those were very flat with a lot of contact area compared to the rounded motorcycle tire. The weight of the car does flatten them out a bit but still not much.
You really notice the difference when braking. Especially trying to stop at 140+. They lock up pretty dam easy and I always use the the whole track trying to stop.
I wouldnt use motorcycle tires for the street at all. yea can drive around sure but if your going to be speeding around I would use a real skinny just for the braking benefits cause its even easier to lock up on the street with sand dust etc. and forget a little rain. You have to gently apply the brakes no sudden stops, if you have to suddenly stop short youll probably lock them up.
also most motorcycle tires are rated at 750 lbs per tire. So you would already be at the limit. Ive been using them for a little while now but they are coming off as soon as i have the extra cash for real rims and tires.

Those were exactly my concerns, so I went with the firestones. As far as weight ratings on them, I figure if vettes and supras and other heavier cars run them, there shouldn't be any issues on the fc.
