I'm curious to know if adding a larger diameter stud/tension bolt or solid dowel in the area where the I beam is pointing to would better than other areas. I see Goopy adds 5 larger diameter bolts, but they do not have one in that area.

I have also seen dowels above and below that area. But not on that specific tension bolt hole. Maybe because removing material from there weakens it. But reinforcing the area around it gives the rigidity needed?

 

I just did the goopy stud kit. Used 8. Next time I do it it will be every hole and complete thru the motor.

 

I know this is an OLD thread, but I was wondering if you ever did purchase the stud kit through turblown? I know they make awesome parts, but I am really curious on the stud kits now.

 

You are probably already aware, but E&J autoworks are now offering a stud kit, OEM thread pitch on the front iron, I believe $45 per stud.
