That's the weak link in the bug world- transmission/axles. My friend races bugs and he is always telling me how something broke down. hehe.

well the trans is not weak it s a Mendeola trans that we customized to hold the torque response of the motor.
as for the axel issue yes we broke the MW 300m axel finally so we are in the prosses of going with a diff setup for drivetrain but its still in the works so it will be a few months till we see what is going to happen with that. looks promising i can tell u that. stay tuned.

as for the specs of the car well its simple old *** super bettle with a 13b cosmo semi PP stuffed in its *** with a mendeola trans gt42 E&J throttle body setup , LOPEZ seals & built motor tuned. doesnt get any better . now we need the 80mm (comming soon)
they are some great guys to know & be able to hang with. the car would not be where its at today without them.

just a quick update. we got our new special drive line. & i can tell u only this.
deff a work of art & it looks very promising!!!
we will be putting it in the car next weekend.

also we will be at the next NSCRA event with a new look on the bug!! stay tuned for some sneak pics

I ASKED alex about the car and yeah he told me its a gt42R with a PP so it gives me hope to make big numbers when he tunes my car. I noticed its got the E&J throttle body. How does that spool as far as compared to the stock intake

we dont know about spool causein drag racing thier is no lag. 2step that bitch,lol

Right on I can't wait to see the results. My friend races bugs and I always give him **** about putting a rotary engine in his bug to fix it right and gets all pissed off at me. So this will be the icing on the cake.

we got the motor back in & the car is back on all 4s. but the damn painter is killing us on time.
hes only 1/2 done with the wet sanding & we cant put anything else back in till hes done. hopfully he gets it done tomorrow.

the new look is deff going to look sleek.

can u share some info on the gearbox,

which mandeola model do u use and can the R&P be rotated for mid engine aplication,
or do u need to flip the box updide down

I am trying to put a mid engine rotary project togeather
thnx in avdnace

no u can not spin it around it wont work. we have already thought of every possibility, made my head hurt. u cant even flip the spool around because of the way its positioned.

we just gave up at 9 tonight. electronics are all back in all wired back up ready to fire tomorrow. got a few more little things to put on but will be good to go to the track on fri.

Porsche G50 series are your best bet with G50-03's cheap and plentiful to the G50-50 (if you can find one) being the stronger units and many other options in between. There are several shops that can set them up to run inverted from $3k-$17k depending on options and Kennedy Engineering has off-the-shelf adapter plates/clutches/starters.

I'm putting together a mid-engine rotary myself
