Broke the trannie

Finally joined the broken trannie club shifting into 3rd on the street, and it caused it to rattle like the twin disc but louder!
Then did a pull and went into 2nd gear and it took some of the gears off, i was able to make it 3 miles to the house before it started locking up.

3 years isint bad i guess if you track the car and cut 1.52 60 ft. But i need another J-Spec trannie.
I guess the 2 extra pounds of boost and the shifter extender didnt help!

glad to here you were beating on it! There is a doug nash w/ vertigate on racingjunk.com He offered it to me for $1200. Been looking to pick one up for the RX3 but also thought that would be nice to have built like Allens and set it in the FD. I am sure some sheet metal work would be needed.

If i had the money i would finish the t2, with turbo and a good trannie instead of just setting there.
Ill problly just get another j-spec.

Im just happy it didnt happen last night when i was doing a hwy pull from 30-145 and lock up that might have tested the ticker a little bit!
Video to follow.

I started the damage running an 08 vette to the dissapontment of his wife as i blew past him and ripped 3rd gear it felt like i loosened something up then it started clicking.
Then later i destroyed it in sec gear.

Imagine a 5'' shifter extension on a short shifter and the extra leverage it gave me!
But it goes in gear weather it wants to or not.

First hand i know 5th gear is a little higher makeing it more useful in town, and i have heard some of the later j-specs have stronger bearings and such but im not an expert!
Plus they have less mile as a rule.

only the 99 and up have the gear change.. everything else uses the same part numbers as the US model Busted7. Lower miles is definitely a plus though

<---- runs jspec with lower 5th gear. Sucks for travel but great when playing around.

Thanks but i dont know if 5th gear works im a pussie so 4th is all i know.
Eric it might have slipped up a couple lbs some how!
And its been a year or so since i looked at the plugs.
Im just glad the trannie didnt lock up and give me another heart attack on that pull.

You NY guys must find it hard to find a clear highway with no one for miles.

Theres an 800 hp all wheel drive talon here that would just kill me on the highway so i avoid him.

.

No one for miles?, maybe upstate NY. The geniuses over here just block the highway with 4 SUV's until the race is over. Its pretty interesting to see, the truck drivers actually get out and watch its so common. This is why NY needs a drag strip asap.

That sounds bad *** but here we have county, state , and city police with overlaping districts and if we blocked traffic other drivers would turn us in!

Im the only rx7 that runs here and it gets real lonely i wish some others would join in.
