Alternator Question.

Hello Everyone.

I am building a 93 FD and have a quick question.

I am installing a Master Electrical Kill switch and need to be able to shut the whole car off when the switch is pulled. So I have wired up the battery end of it, but need to wire up the alternator side, so when the switch is pulled the alternator doesn't keep the car running.

SO THE QUESTION:

What of the 2 wires on the plug that goes into the alternator is the one that is the signal wire for the alternator relay?

I would like to do it this way, and not extend the alternator power wire if possible.

Thanks for all your help.

my 89 fc wire is the one on the drivers side, or the right hand side of the alternator, but mines a jap spec, so for you US fellas i mean the wire would be on the passengers side,
As far as i know the s5 fc and the fd rx7 share same style wiring for alternators,

If you are running a aftermarket ecu cut the power to the relay that runs the ecu, so if its been wired correctly then it should also cut the power to the fuel pumps as well buy default.
I cut the earth wires to the relays that run my important units, fucked if i wanted to run power wires up back and forth , but then again i have only 5 relays in my whole car
