Hi Guys I thought I would post a pic from our club in the UK from one of our members Chris who ran consistant 9s with his IRS FD earlier this month, I think you would agree the pic shows an awesome launch, 1.3 60fts

Yep RX Motors (Tim & Matt) doing wonders with that car. But Chris is a mental driver no fear lol.
I believe its a HKS T51 KAI turbo with a Bridge Ported 13B REW engine,Microtech, RX8 gearbox, Clutch type LSD, and some trick air suspension dampers. And its still untubbed and still IRS.

Think maybe someone can ask them if they can post up information about the car?

Its not stock is it? Any reason they used the RX-8 tranny. Is the gearing better or something?

I realize that its a 6 spd, but I wouldn't think that shorter gears would necessarily be better for drag racing. The gears are shorter and you'd almost always be in the powerband, but you have to shift probably one extra gear in the quarter.
My buddy has a custom built dog-box trans in his Talon drag car and he uses a very long 1st gear, alomst pulls 45mph in first or something like that....
Anyways I'm curious as to what they did to that tranny to make it withstand that abuse, cause there is no way its stock.

shorter gears would suck............. I know in my old FD, I'd be banging second right after I dropped the hammer.

^ yeah exactly, my buddy runs past the 60' before hitting second. Thats why the RX-8 tranny makes no sense to me.....but hey if hes running sub 10's, hes doing something right

I got those pics from the HKS event in the UK. His name was mentioned as well. I'm pretty sure it's the same car.

Yeah, I went through all those pictures too. Look closely through the pics, two different cars that "Almost" look identical.

The RX8 box is stock guys im afraid nothing weird going on in there, The only thing I dont know is what final gear they are using in the diff.
AnthonyNYC the pictures you posted is of Gary Gooding tubbed (Purple) FD on its shakedown runs its has the same veilside front as Chris Impeys (Green) FD.
Garys Tubbed FD has just been built and has not gone full boost yet.

So Chris's FD specs as I know them
13B REW BridgePort
HKS T51KAI turbo
850cc 1680cc
Aeromotive 1000 pump
Microtech ECU
custom intercooler
WI of some form
Gasoline fuelled
IRS
Air suspension
RX8 gearbox (standard)

The only details I know on Garys tubbed FD is a massive GT47 type turbo on a mix and match 13B RE\REW engine,Motec ECU.
I do have engine pics of both cars , I will post them up when I find them

Video of chris"s car-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVxjfTnAGbE&eurl=http://www.rxmotors.co.uk/

video of the current irs record holder in europe-dragon performance 9.1 sec run on h pattern gearbox-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OaaRUJT085U

picture of my car-http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=aV1IemN9

Finally a picture of my engine ,hoping to get close to the irs record in this next year, had a couple of shakedown runs and a few problems-blown act six puck clutch, blown caliper, and geometry settings, but managed to trap 126 easing down and with missed gearshift on one run.Hopefully this gives you an idea of how we roll over the pond.

No tricks to the car really, it's a half bridge but the bridgeports themselves are really jports. microtec ltx8 ecu, 1.6 to 1.8bar boost (boost control a bit lacking)
a really good driver, who ran about 11 back to back 9 sec runs. The hks t51 is actually clipped(was damaged by flying apex seals on previous car by previous owner, and damaged wheel had it's blades filed down). The rx8 box was fitted because it takes a lot more abuse than an fd one does. dss rear shafts 4.1 final drive, custom fuel tank. Car will be a lot faster in a few months from now with some new parts pending to be fitted.
Here's a vid of one of the slower runs
