Things didn't go as well as planned. I guess there is a reason tuners charge for their survices I will post some pics of the carnage later.

ohh no!!! sorry to hear it didn't go as planned Allen, but atlease you gave it your best shot
I would feel alot better knowing I caused the carnage myself because it was a DIY project and a cool learning experience, insted of it happening after I paid Joe Blow to do the work...

Words of inspiration : learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm sure it's hard enough tuning a slightly modded car but i think i am in a bit over my head on this one. Everything was going nicely and the car felt really good. I had a bad problem with it bogging out of the hole but when it finally took off it hit so violently it would pull the front tires off the ground!!! I went to pull a little fuel out of it in the 0-12 PSI range and accidentally highlighted too many bars. The car was pulling hard then all the sudden it broke loose and went sideways. I barely got it straightened out and drove it back to the trailer. When i got out of the car this is what i saw.

I figured that it just puked a bunch of oil out of the catch can but after a closer look i found the real problem.

The car still sounded good when i shut it off so i think i can get away with just replacing the rear iron. I kinda bruised it on the dyno and stuck a front seal so i am not too sad that i have to pull the motor. That had been bugging me and i am glad i can fix it now. After looking at the datalog i realized what went wrong. The A/F got into the 15.5 range so i know it detonated. I can't wait till i get everything sorted out, this thing is an animal. I think i am going to leave the tuning to the pro's from now on. I can't afford to keep making mistakes so the car may have to sit for a while till i get someone to tune it.

It can be rebuilt and much better.

your still on gas ? or your running alky know . lambda needs to be at .65 and no more than .75 at full boost . exhaust no more than 1000 deg . this numbers work for me at around 40psi with only 10 injectors . hope this can help , i had my share of crack problems , tune is the cure with few more pins holding the beast together ...wish you the best with your proyect !!!

Allen...good to hear you're alright. Your engine can be rebuilt. Just a minor setback I know you'll overcome.

I am running methanol rotorious13b. I also have 4 extra studs. That just goes to show that in the hands of the wrong tuner even studded motors can be blown up.

Sorry for the misshap Allen. Don't give up on tunning. It's not that hard and if you don't learn how to do it then someday you'll be at the track and have a problem and you're tunner will not be there to help you. Just run a very conservative tune and go from there. Don't try and run a 7 second pass on the very first run with a brand new motor. All it takes is some practice and some good advise/help from freinds/people that know what they are doing.

Oh I'm not giving up by any means. I just need someone to lead me to home plate before i can hit a home run. I would love to be able to say i tuned it myself 100% but i am going to have to put my pride aside. I just don't want to be one of those people who every time they get a new combo they run off to their tuner with a hand full of cash and don't do any of their work themselves. I realize there is a learning curve and i am kinda glad i blew it up without hurting too much. That means that i am learning, and the one thing i learned yesterday is to be patient. I got frustrated and misread the data because i was in a hurry. I won't make that mistake again. I am just glad that in my stupidity i didn't get myself hurt.

I should have the motor torn down tomorrow. I will post some pics.
