Sorry for your loss to Chris. I know you had a lot of hard work and effort into this beautiful car. Looking at the pics makes me queasy, i can only imagine how you guys feel. I am glad no one was hurt badly.

I'll tell you for one thing Mazda built a strong car for it's time. Even the rescue guys were impressed how the car handle the impact especially for the speed it was travelling at the time of impact. Plus the car had a full cage in it along with the additional bars in front of the strut which actually took the initial impact.
What the video and pics don't show is how close both cars came during the accident. Domingo was in front of the Honda by about a car up to the point when he lost traction and just missed the rear of the Honda when he crossed the lane. If the Honda had slowed for any instance the out come could have been much worse for both drivers and cars.

dam cris, sorry to see that. similar to my accident. I leaked water. glad domingo is ok. hurts to see that. that was a badass Rx3. we barely have rotaries in all motor running fast, and we loose one of the fastest..

Was the track oily or sandy or what caused traction problems for both cars on the same run?

Thumbs up Traviseo RX3 loss

Chris/Domingo,

It is very sad to see one of the fastest Mazda RX3's in the US go down like that. Glad to here Domingo is doing well. Your ribs, bumps, and bruises will heal, but at least you will be around to race another day.

We need to talk about proposing rule changes that will make our "All Motor" cars safer. Winning is nice, but over the past couple of weeks we lost the 2 fastest rotary powered vehicles to unfortunate accidents. Together with East Coast/West Coast racers we should pull together and propose rule changes so this does not happen again. This gives us some leverage when it comes to proposing changes to all the sanctioning bodies.

Someone needs to organise it and arrange for a meeting to take place.
This **** has to be solved soon.

Organize a meeting

I'll contact a couple of the local guys and setup a meeting. Probably the best thing to do is put a list together of all the people that would like to participate in proposing rule changes to all the sanctioning bodies. From that list we put together all the information needed to write all our proposed rule changes on paper. Distribute via e-mail copies to everyone involved. Then setup a meeting to discuss any loose ends that need to be discussed in detail. I'll start putting some information together that I have been gathering for the past couple of months.

Basically what we need to do is document everything from the rule books and show comparisons of cars competing in the "All Motor" Class. Talking about it in an open forum seems to just sound like we are complaining just to complain. But, I honestly think since we have seen the 2 fastest cars wreck in the past couple of weeks. This makes more sense for us all competing in this class.

From my personal experience *ive driven on orlando speedwords track for years* that track sucks. If your car does anything under a 13, or get more than 100mph in a trap you are gonna have lots of scary moments. I seen a guy in a 150hp mr2 there lose it because half down the track is like ice. Sorry for your loss, just learn from the mistake of racing there once man.

Check this Honda for the 'All Motor' class.---->

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1956117

How are you supposed to compete against that with the way the rules are at presently?
