It appears that Paul Yaw is building a supercharged RX-8 to race. This should be pretty cool when its done. They are currently dyno testing the engine and setting a horspower goal of 450! Here it is on the engine dyno.

Kick ***! Can't wait to see the results. I wonder if when we'll start to see aftermarket FI kits for the RX-8.

I haven't even seen one, but I wanna hand one it's *** just to show it whose boss.

Thats awesome that someone is already working on race applications for the Renesis though, maybe with a big enough following, we'll see a new 7!

Twin turbos vs. an NA? You better be able to hand it it's ***. But I'd bet money without those turbos it would be the other way around real quick

stock for stock.
FD vs Rx-8

it would be a close match on the 1/4 mile.

The 8 would be a little slower but considering it is basically the same motor without turbos it is very impressive. When Paul gets a supercharger on this motor it is going to make some jaws drop I can assure you.

someone on the rx8 forum recently dynoed their 6spd rx8 at Pettit. It put down a mere 173rwhp. It will be interesting to see if Yaw power gets any closer to the factory claimed output (maybe the rx8 just has drivetrain loss of 30%???? ).

You can break in a motor in 2 days if you're motivated enough .

I agree, you can break in a motor extremely quickly if you really want to. One day is all it takes ...2 just for kicks . Btw guys...his car is AUTO so no fear...the power is SPOT ON. Remember the auto cars only have 210bhp not 247. So 173 is a good power number. Oh wait...now he's saying he has a manual tranny (I'm guessing 5spd...no matter how you take it he can't have a 247 engine that puts down only 173). He hasn't shown pics of the car OR the dyno so I'm getting very skeptical...

Nope. the 8 has been tested to a 14.5. The FD lays down a high 13.
