Will this ACT clutch hold up?
Will this ACT clutch hold up?
I'm looking at getting the ACT clutch kit from the Rx-7 store that says it can hold back 330lb ft of torque.
Here is what I have (and will have)
13b-re running a 60-1 p-trim 1.0 a/r 15psi ( or maybe a T62 with close to those specs)
All the things to go with it (3"exh custom devided manifold ect ect..)
87-88 T2 trans, RB light weight steel flywheel
in a 83 Rx-7 that should weigh no more than 2400#s loaded
I'm thinking it should put down somewhere around 350 RWHP, do you think I will have more than 330 lb/ft tq on hand with this setup?

I think that that should be OK. Hehe, that's almost the exact same setup i'm going to be running in my FC
(ACT @ 330 ft lbs, T04 60-1 P-trim, 1.00 A/R divided @ 12-15psi, ...)
Let me know how that works out!,

hmm...
I think it will be close to what it can hold back. If it had 350rwhp thats about 400 flywheel hp right? If it has 400hp and I take off 20% of that to get a estamate for flywheel torque I come up with 320lb/ft torque.
Sound right to you guys?

Think they over rate ther clutches any, build some sort of safety factor in them?
Hey I got act street/strip I think they call it and it was suppose to be better than the stock clutch. Anyhow I have not notice any freaking difference in within the two but feel like a bitch clutch to me because it's very soft for me and I was hoping that the clutch pedal would be siffer instead of soft. Anyhow it's on 93 rx.
