Will 1st gen front cover fit Series 5 n/a?

I might build a hybrid 13b 4-port , using a series 5 n/a engine with turbo 2 side housings, i want to convert to a distributior ingition system, so will a 1st gen front cover from a 13b or 12A fit Series 5 n/a engine?



Goal:

datsun 1200 fastback
13b 4-port (bridgeported)
weber 51 adi

 

I Believe it does. It's been so long. Dunno if you're gonna use the engine mounts. I'm not a big fan of supporting the engine from the front. and don't know which water pump to use.

The older distributer will fit the S5 cover without a problem. You don't need a 1st gen cover for this. I plan on using a S4-S6 electronic CAS on my 12a with it's stock front cover for my 1st gen.

 

the s5 cover doesn't have the engine mounts on it, i presume thats why he would want to use the 1st gen cover. It fits fine.

 

Well he didn't say anything about engine mounts.
