who does race clearance for rotors
I plan on turnning around 9500 - 10000 rpms on my half b port.
who does clearance at a good price and do I need differnet conner seals? or side seals?

According to RICE , any compinent machine shop should be able to handle it , I am presently having mine done at a local " large " ( professional ) shop , I'm taking of 0.5mm per face ,its costing me a total of $ 360.00 TT or $57.15 US ! .
You take off the faces near the apex seal groove region , this is done because the roto can also crash into the rotor housing as it rotates , remember that the faces come very close to the surface of the housing without actually making contact , however at high load and hi RPM ,strange things can happen .

I took my side housings to them to be lapped once, and he goes what the heck is that... I say its a side housing outta a rotary engine, then he ask what the heck does it do. I politely say nevermind, and exit the door
Eventually had to send them off to be done...

never heard of taking it off the face, that sounds retarded. to me the whole race clearcing thing is something that is not really necessary, just like 1 pc 3mm apex seals for 25 psi of boost

Parts touching where they are not meant to touch cause abnormal stresses + extra friction, all this costs power and reliability.
Soul assassin is right that it is not cruicial, but lots of detail things add up when you are searching for reliable efficient power, being an engine builder and machinist and Engineer I almost had a heart attack when I pulled down my first engine running 500bhp @ 8k rpm to find that the rotors were hitting all the spots that they are not designed too, you do not have to be an engineer to see that if you have a shinny spot on your rotor face that it has been touching the rotor housing, the amount of shock load this transfers to the rotor face/gear/crank/housing/dowel is large, and also rubing the tip of the rotors (quite large area) is detremental to lubricant reaching the face of the corner seal and side seal tips reducing life and increasing friction. I swear by the mod as do people like Racing Beat.
From first hand experience, it is worth the time and effort to get your engine properly blue printed, clearanced etc, if your engine builder suggests otherwise then he realy does not know the benifits and you should look for another builder who has more experience with high Hp high RPM rotaries that are reliable.
OK so exactly where do the rotors get ground? From what i have seen is material comes off teh faces and also i have seen rotors that hvae had like a 45 degrees cut shaved off the whole sides? Are these both for teh same reason?
