What would my friend run in the 1/4 with a couple of mods?

My friend has a 93 tt with a Borla muffler, intake, blow-off valve, and upped the boost to 12lbs with a homemade boost controller.

Just wanted to know if you guys know what he'd do in the 1/4. I'll be running him this weekend. He's anxious to race me again after I beat him a couple months ago. He said only one of his turbo's were working back then and he just got the other one fixed. He says his car's alot faster now.

I don't think he posts here alot, so I want to find out more about his car. He's getting a downpipe soon and aside from that, what more inexpensive mods, short of a whole single turbo upgrade; would help him in the power area?

BTW, what do RX7's weigh?

Im gona guess 270hp with those mods. I hope he knows more about his car than you do, because hes gona need a ecu!!!!!! With all of those mods and his turbos working properly he will be in the low 13 secs. If he replaces his main cat he could possibly run high 12's. So you better get some more mods 4 your ls1. Oh yeah Fd's weigh a little over 2900 pounds. all I can say is good luck

Your friend definitely needs to upgrade his ECU if he is running 12psi and is going to put on a downpipe. Actually, if you are good friends you should warn him that he has a pretty good chance that he will blow his engine with this setup. With the downpipe installed he should be in the low 13's in the 1/4 mile. Also, 3rd gens are about 2700-2800 pounds

Thanks guys, i'll give him the heads up. He's a good friend of mine but he makes alot of money, so it shouldn't matter. He'll probably want to run anyway. The funny thing is, I raced a friend of mine's 94 Intergra GSR with turbo @6lbs., downpipe, exhaust, sprockets and other stuff on it and he blew his motor racing me. I felt kinda bad though. I would feel really bad if this friend blew his motor racing me too.

You will probably still have a slight advantage since your LS1 is modded a little. Tell him even to pick up a Pettit or M2 ecu off partstrader for like $400-500 so he is safe. With a dp, catback, intake, and ecu he could pull high 12s and should pull you a little - should be a good race though - keep us posted.

Yes, I believe he will will be up to par with me when he gets his downpipe and ecu. However, I will be getting my longtube headers about the same time he gets his downpipe, so I should still have the advantage for a while. I had another friend of mine put the headers on his credit card and shipped to his work. The guy with the RX7 told my friend to keep the headers at his work and not give them to me. He was kidding, but he knows it's not a good thing when I get them. Ha,ha,ha,ha,haaaaaaaa!

Grimlock, you think so?

My list of kills includes a 2002 M3, 2002 SLK AMG 32, a Comptech Supercharged S2000 that dynoed at 299 at the wheels and a few others not worth mentioning.
The sc'd S2000 kill was when I was completely stock.

I don't know. What do S2000's weigh? Should be just around 3k right?

All of the s/c s2000's I've ever heard of supposedly ran like poo...

There was a guy with a 3rd gen on here a little while ago that supposedly beat a s/c s2000 and the 3rd gen was either stock or had very very slight mods..

The mods aren't very detailed - did he just change the muffler?
It sounds like a mid to low 13-second FD...

Your buddy WILL blow his engine running 12lbs of boost on a stock ecu. Very dumb move. Stock ecu can ONLY handle 10lbs of boost. No if, ands, or buts......
