What transmission do you prefer?

I love driving, my favorite part about driving is shifting. I would buy a 10 speed manual if I could. I would never buy an automatic car. So i got my RX7 converted from 5 speed manual to 6 speed manual. I was just wondering what kind of transmission you prefer?

I'd love a manual CVT, but I can't afford to make one - it's either that or a six-speed manual

I did it in one of my old FC's for a waste of $3000. Never again will I make that mistake.

Corksport claims their $5000 HKS dog-unit is a 6 speed, but only lists 5 gear ratios. Trying to find any information on the HKS dogbox is near impossible, too.

If you really did spend $9k to install a 6-speed, you are an idiot. However, judging from your posts, I'm guessing you didn't.

How was what?
I used a richmond 6 speed gear box and made an adapter plate for the stock bellhousing and a custom drivershaft. The only gain was better fuel economy on the freeway. I would not do it again.

the only reason i bought a six speed transmission was because my RX7 was an automatic, and everyone was telling me how fun it would be to drive one, and i wanted to drive a manual, but i did'nt want to buy a new car, so i got my transmission converted

Tri... if you want to discuss more about the 20B transmission topic, do a search in the 20B section. We have discussed this topic numerous times there.

The T56 is a strong trans but will not handle the high rpms rotary's have without beefing up the internals (hardened gears, etc).
