What size fire ext. should i get?

I am thinking about getting a real, not rice, fire extinguisher for my car. I found some nice halon ones but dont know what size to get. They have a 1lb. bottle for $68 and a 2.5lb. bottle for like $120sumthin. Would 1lb. be enough to put out a possible engine fire? Or should i spend the extra cash and get the 2.5? Plus size is another factor. I gues i would have to put a 2.5lb. in the trunk. Anyway, let me know what you guys think and/or use. Thanks.

Get the fire extinguisher system that is activated by a
switch. Has Nozzles that spray (engine bay, and inside
the car to keep it from burning).

Unless your going for show!

you may have to type in "fire extinguishers" in the keyword section if the link doesnt take you right there. They have a couple different halon systems.

The halon system would be a nice thing to have if you plan on racing your car. If you just want a regular fire extinguisher then just go to pep-boys and buy the one for like 15 bucks. Although halon would be nice to have, as well as a whole fire system, just incase. I probally wouldn't mount the sensors in the cockpit though, if you are in the car when they go off you will be caughing for a month or so. Plus the fire probally wouldn't be in the cockpit of the car, unless it was electircal.

those pep boys extinguishers only spray for about 30 seconds at most. Plus, it sparays a powder which bonds to things when they get really hot and is a bitch to clean up. Halon is a clear gas that doesnt make a mess.
