What mods should I get??
I have owned my 1994 Montego Blue RX-7 for three years and finally got it paid off so now I have some more money to put into it.
This is what I have so far:
Bönez 3' Perf. Full Cat
Koyo Racing Aluminum Radiator
RP Standard Clutch Kit
Bönez Stage (I) Brake Upgrade
Greddy Turbo Timer
Greddy Blow off Valve
I have also replaced all the hoses, wiring and what not. What I would like to know is what you guys would recommend from here?? What I am really looking for right now is what I need to do to lengthen the life of my engine. I am a daily driver, but rarely drive it too hard
I was thinking exaust, not sure which one though...was looking at the Greddy Power Extreme of the Apexi N1 Dual....getting a strut bar, maybe a fuel pump upgrade, boost guage for sure, but not sure what other guages to get. I have got about a grand to fifteen hundred to spend. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is your RX-7 an R2, Touring or Base?
If it's not an R model, I would get some higher performance springs put on the car, then add an updated ECU.
Eibach Pro Kit: $250
ECU Upgrade: $700
That would just get you under your grand mark (just guessing at those prices. You could probably pick up some of that stuff used cheaper if you wanted).
If you already have an R model with the upgraded suspension, switch that out for a new intake. Make sure to do the Boost Gauge though.

For the ECU I suggest you get the Apexi Power FC, you can progam any upgrades you get in the future...my PFC should be here in two days and then get a Down Pipe, it'll decrease the amount of heat under your hood and let your turbos breath more and I think it gives you about a 15-20hp too, then get Intake, BOV, FMIC......... but thats a little more than $1500....good luck

With around a $1500 budget. I'd say get a new ECU and boost gauge for sure! if you can...find a cheap Boost controller. i saw that www.wholehyper.com is having a special on GReddy Profec B's. Good luck with your FD!

Thanks for your advice. I went with the exaust (Greddy power extreme)....more of a cosmetic decision as the old stock was rusted and one of the steel tips had broken off. I also went with a Greddy boost guage...had some other minor things fixed.
I figure my next big expense will be an upgraded ECU, intercooler and intake.
The good news is I had a compression test done also and after three years, the numbers still look pretty good.
Thanks again

Do some research before your next upgrades. Usually you need to upgrade your fuel system with an Intercooler upgrade:

Be careful with the ecu upgrade. If you get the pettit make sure you have some performance upgrades. I would get the PFC but it is twice the price of the pettit so unfortunately I went with pettit. I would look into:
Power FC $1300 (pricey)
water temp gauge $100
boost gauge $200
downpipe $250
hi flow cat $300
intake $400 (or make your own)
fuel pump $200
That should probably get you started out. Try finding used parts and it will help out tons.
