Id say 140-150 is about right. The 89-91 made 160hp. However, this was with a different ports, and a much higher compression ratio.

Its hard to tell, there are just too many variables

i guess with that reasoning you should buy regular mustangs as opposed to the supercharged cobra cuz they will go just about the same speed right?

I think that would be cool, what kind of supercharger are you thinking about.

roots, centrifugal, screw??

Give the guy a break. He's not being rude to anyone. A supercharger would be a really cool and unusual sight to see in a 3rd gen. I myself do prefer a turbo anyday but I would love to see someone else's creativity in that car. Everyone has the same basic looking engine bay. I haven't seen a supercharger in one of those yet, centrifugal, roots, screw, or otherwise. Just research as to how the powerband of each type of supercharger differs, how each one heats up the air (efficiency) and then figure out how much power you want. There are so many different variables and factors that determine what is best or not that no one can absolutely tell you that it won't work as good as something else. We can only compare the basic facts in the ongoing turbocharger vs supercharger debate. If it makes you happy in the end then who cares what anyone else thinks of it!

centrigul would work good, just put it on the right side where the turbo used to be and run it through the FMIC. would be very nice for autocross. 16-18psi is about the most people run on street gas without water injection. So maybe figure out the size and pulley to do about 18psi at 9000.
Sounds like a good idea, you would have to figure out the size of it to get a good estimate of power since like turbos superchargers can make different hp's with diff size wheels and whatnot at the same psi.

Thanks for the saport guys!!!
I want to see if Mazda will sell their new Renesis rotary without the RX8 attached to it. I sent them an email to see if they will or maybe be do a trade with the 13b and pay the difference, Ill tell you fellas how it goes with that.

I would like to get my hands on one because they puch 250hp NA and that would be great with a SC. There is this sentrifugal SC from this realy good company ive been checking out. Then have many different models and kits. There is one that boosts max to 26psi, has 73% Adiabatic efficiency, Max impeller speed is 55,000 rpm, max airflow 1200 CFM and it fits engines up to 825HP. They say its a great street kit. The companys name is Vortech. They have % to show you how to work out how much HP you could get at max RPM and boost....I worked out that just by adding the SC kit and maxing the boost you can make instant 398HP. This is whith a 250HP Renesis engine that is, not a RX7 13b. If i can remeber the 7's engine made round about 358HP from 150 or so NA. I like the SC's becasue the will iliminate alot of hood clutter and I think its about time there was a different looking FD engine bay. As soon as things get under way Ill let ya all know.

In the mean time I sent an email to the Vortech guys and asked if they had a kit that fitted the 13b and if they dident would they custom make one. Guess they would cos it says so on thier page. Well Ill tell you guys what Mazda and Vortech say.

Cheers fellas!!!

I'm down with the supercharger idea. I love turbos and all that stuff, BUT I really love N/A engines and a roots blower would be basically as close as you can get with forced induction. But either way I like the belt driven nature of a supercharger...but if I'm going for an "EXTREME" car then I love me some turbos (I'm talking like F40 acceleration).

dude, just make sure that supercharger is properly sized, find out the A/R on the supercharger you want and ask in the single turbo section

OK.....so dose this sizeing aply to all kinds of superchargers ???

Cos from what I read you can stick a centrafugale one on any car, you just need the right connections to the engine.

Quick Reply: what is the HP for an FD3S standerd if you take the TTs away ???
