weighed my FD today and it's LIGHT!!

I just got home from the shop and weighing my FD on some Longacre scales. From everyone i've talked to they're extremely accurate so i'm pretty stoked. I still have a few things to add and subtract so it's not the final weigh in but it's getting close.

Anyway.......it weighs in at 2230lbs. I was SHOCKED to say the least! I thought it was light but not that light.

The things it has that are changing......TH350 trans will be swapped for a lighter Jatco trans. About 15lbs lighter on the swap. Aluminum driveshaft swapped for metal driveshaft. Not exactly sure but i'm sure it's a few. Passenger seat not in and will be so add back some. Front bumper not on and weighs maybe 10lbs.

Also stock back wheels are on which are getting swapped for Bogarts with MT slicks when ready. The chute mount is not on yet but will weigh in at about 15lbs complete.

This is suprising being that it has a 12pt. cage. Without the cage it'd be in the 2100's which is down right mind blowing to me. I didn't think i could get it down that low. Everyone always said there was no way to get an FD below 2400lbs or for sure below mid 2300's.

When it's all said and done i'm thinking it should be around 2275-2300 so i can ballast it from there.

Ha ha! I know you're joking. I'm thinking i'll be right around where you are or maybe just a tick heavier when it's all said and done. I haven't weighed everything going on or off as of yet so i might suprise myself and it be even lighter than expected......again.

I've got 2 more that are getting made in the next couple of weeks. One is going on a car for tuning to see before and after and the other is gonna be an extra. I've got a guy with stock twins to do the before and after and one with a single turbo so we'll see how it goes.

Crossing my fingers and toes.....

Yeah with Kaaz lsd, chromoly axles, and 4.3 gears. It's got the diff brace from Keith also which is a little heavy.....and solid mounts. Also chromoly arms upper and lower w/rod ends. Afco double adj. shocks all the way around with some trick *** mounts.
