Weber/Half-bridge Question.
Im building a half-bridge 12a because i still want to use the stock 2 piece apex seals. And for carburation i plan on using my 45mm sidedraft Weber. My question is will this setup work ok?. Some people in the first gen. forum said it wont work very good because of the 2 barrell Weber. Anyone ever try this setup?.

It should run ok. But the apex seals will chatter up the rotor housings if you spend a lot of time beyond 6K...which you will be unless you just use it in normal driving. Oh yes, orentate your apex corners towards the center housing if you didn't already know...

why only a half bridge - (I trust you mean you are bridging the end plates and leaving the centres...) - my opinion is that it will give you the worst of both worlds, a noisy overlapping exhaust note but with only about as much power as an extended port engine. A half / part bridge will work better when the inlet for the bridged ports is seperate to the non bridged ones, eg using a barrel inlet manifold or adapting a 13b efi manifold (easy - use a bolt on adaptor).
I reckon, if you are going to bridge, do it properly; Go a full bridge on all four inlet ports, and get a 48ida weber - while you already have a 45 it will need the bigger 48 downdraft to work well, and anyway, if you are using all the new parts you should when rebuilding, a well built engine will be worth more than a carb, so to do it justice, get an ida!
the half bridge and dcoe will run, but the superior combination of 12a bp and 48ida will be a whole world of difference!
