turbos or vacuum?
hey just wondering something. im looking at a 93 with 67k on it. the boost is normal 10-8-10 when it is cool and not humid. when it is hot and humid the boost drops to 6-4-6. any idea why this is happening and what it will take to repair this problem? any input will be greatly appreciated. thanks--kevin

Sure something is wrong with the boost =P
Lol j/k could be MANY problems, go search under 3rd gen forum boost problems and you will find MANY threads. Also there is a troubleshoot page somewhere. I recommend you look into a compression check I beleive anything over 100 is REALLY good 80 to 90 is ok but the engine is tired. Below 80 is REALLY bad. The turbo's should have no shaft play and no weird smoke or w/e should come out the exhuast (white smoke is coolant, blue smoke is oil, black is gas (running rich). Look around the engine bay for signs of coolant leaking (will leave like a white caking, and/or other fluids) Search the FAQ and New thread in the 3rd gen forum as well.

Yeah, shutup kid.
I'd guess it's normal. Air is much less dense when it's hot and humid, so even if the turbo sucks in the same volume of air, since it's much less dense it's not really getting as much air. A cold air intake and a more open exhaust will let the turbo breathe more and then it should make close to the same boost(but still probably not quite as much power)in any condition.
Or it could be some weird thing that goes bad on FD's, all I know is carbs and blowthrough turbo setups.
