cheapest way to get a 86 running 14s

I was wondering what stuff i should put on an 86 non turbo to make it fast but it has to be fairly cheap. I already know exhaust intake and headers what else should i put on my car.

It's not what you add it's what you remove...like about 700lbs of unnecessary weight.

Ditch the efi, go for the RB carb set-up and their exhaust set-up.

How about a self done rebuild and street port, ported intake, cold air intake and RB header with some weight reduction . . . worked for me, and there's more time to lose with a few more tricks like a midpipe, safc, and drag radials.

Even easier..
Stand alone EFI.
Strip the car.
Junk the 6-port actuators.
Gut the engine compartment of all the junk (When doing EFI)

You get the weight down a few hundred pounds, and get the engine to actually perform like it should and you are there.

Header with either Short or Long collected exhaust

Light Light Light.. You go faster cause you have less lard to haul around.. THings like the entire Dash you can junk.. Just Zip Tie the Gague Cluster to the rack.. DUmp the passenger seat.. aluminum hood.. get some vert rims.. or FD rims.. BUT.. vert is smaller diameter so will accelerate better..

You should easily be there.

(GOing back to work now he he)
