Tune an FC or go for FD?
I am trying to convince a friend who owns an FC to go for the 3rd gen instead of tuning it.The problem here in Greece is that trere aren't so many GOOD FDs available. He has no patience and he wants to start tuning the FC.I told him that there are more tuning alternatives for the FD and that he should wait and find a nice FD.What do you say about all that?Am I right or you can tune an FC as easy as an FD?

FC's are hella easier to work with, and more parts laying around for you to work with, i would tell your freind to work on the FC as long as he has it, and then maybe selling it and getting an FD once he is more familiar with everything. That is just what i would do.

Well you give him wings to fly because he does not go for the looks(although the fd is a very beautiful car)but for the speed and emotions a quick and well balanced car can give you. What about that last thing? Is the FC as well balanced as the FD?You really feel that 50/50 weight distribution driving the 3rd gen.I am thrilled with the feeling of my FD and i am scared i wont find anything like that in the future(maybe Ferraris or Lambos)without selling my house.

Yes, FC's also have the 50/50 balance, and the handling is great. Of course, they're between 10-15 years old now, so you might need to replace shocks/struts/springs/bushings to make it feel like new.

Well thats good news"chief"because we don't want to tune our cars for 400m of straight line but for track and twisty mountain roads which thankfully there are many here in Greece.I don't think that there are many cars at this price range that can offer racecar weight distibution.Bravo Mazda.
Thats a bit of a problem too bacause what am I going to buy next?

yeah man, just about all RX7s have excellent weight distribution. I have an 88GTU (far less superior than your FD) and i love the hell out of it, i can out run most anything out there, esp on the twisties. On the straights though, lots of "muscle" cars eat me up, but, who races in a straight line anyways? Have fun, and im sure your freind will love ANY RX7 he gets
