What do you mean by pressure box? I'd assume you either mean a carb hat or enclosure.

Camden makes a supercharger kit that does not require an enclosure or hat. It is a draw through roots setup. I'll find a link and get back to you.

I just drove my friends car with a 13B street port with the 12in Camden charger on it with the modified Holley carb. It dyno'd at 237whp at 12psi. It is set up for pump gas right now and is at peak tuning. He is right on the verge of having detonation problems if he goes any higher in boost (have to run race fuel at that time). It was fun and snappy, but I think that the turbo setup is more efficient. They make more power with less boost. I also heard that the superchargers have problems after a while due to the high RPMs. Turbo may cost more up front, but having to pay $1500 to rebuild a supercharger everytime it goes out (maybe the bearings?) may not be too cost effective either.

It looked cool, sounded awesome, cost a ton to do, and never ran very well.

I would suggest buying a car already turbo'd and putting the time and money into that.

After all was said and done, with the Charger, full race exhaust, fuel system upgrade and tuning, it was well over 5K sunk into it, and i still wound up driving the 3rd gen instead.

So for the 12a, it's recommended to use draw through on a supercharger?

The only "complete kit" in production is a draw through setup.

You could have anything else you want, but you'd have to make it yourself. And if you decide to start fabbing things up, a turbo setup will probably be more worth while.

A supercharger can be made to work very well. The camden kits just aren't where it's at when it comes to supercharger technology, price, or performance. They are the single least efficient superchargers out there. Even other, newer designed roots superchargers on the market can run circles around the Camden in terms of output.

Not too worried about fabbing stuff, it's the overall cost that is more of concern to me. Spending $4,000 on a camden kit isn't my cup of tea, and for a few cases of beer, I can get the fabrication done. :p
