starting problem when engine is hot.

hello!

i have a newbuild full bridge engine, and i have big problems getting it to start when its hot. no problem when its cold... starts fine up to 50-60degree celsius. over that and the engine wount start, but runs really fine when its running..

got a power fc, 850/1600 and 2xwalboros. have tryed to lean it out and richen it up, but no reaction. it started fine on this map when hot last year, only difference is the bridgeport..

any ideas? have tried the cranking ms, but no responce...

regards,stig

Newly built engines, especially ones with used major parts, will often have low compression during break in. If you have under 1500 miles on the engine that could be why you're having this problem (if it has low compression right now, it's probably flooding).

I'll check the compression tomorrow. how high should it be?

i have used 2 very nice used rotorhousings, nice used sideplates, good sideseals and new ceramic apex seals.

I got the same problem. If I turn it off when hot it wont start up right away. If I pull the injection fuse and crank it a couple seconds it use to start. So I guess it´s flooding. If I park the car like 30minutes there is no problem starting it.

Most emission stuff is removed. Is there any valve etc that control hotstarts?

Thanks

Most bridgeports have this problem. Due to the port there is lower compression, especially when hot. My bridgeport is the same way. A very good ignition, battery, and starter will help. Also, when the car is hot try starting with the gas pedal all the way to the floor- this is how I effectively start my bridge.
