6 rotor drag car ???!?!?! why not ?

Why doesn't somone just go all out on a rotary engine, for drag racing, i mean you all talking about showing up these V-8 boys (which i love doing) but noone is going to show up the King of the hill v-8 monster As in 4000hp Blown Drag cars, but it can be done, use a 6 rotor, i have found one, they can be made (http://www.hurley-engineering.ltd.uk/dreams.htm scroll down mid page) So if someone where to create one of these motors, extremly expensive, tho possible, and peripheral(sp?) port it. and Tri turbo it, running 40psi, then we could really show some rotory power !!!!!!!!!

This is true about the E-shaft on 3 rotors, BUT Abel has since then pretty much fixed the problem, when the Flaco car finally gets going, it's gonna be really scary, it just takes time when you're trying a whole entire new setup like that, especially with the power Abel wants to make, it's just a matter of time.
That's funny you guys are talking about this. I saw him run against that Adam dude (sorry can't spell his last name) with the NSX and was thinking to myself, "why isn't Able running a 3 rotor?"
Even though he got a great jump against the nsx the power was just too much for him to overcome. I wanted to rotary to win soooo bad after watching SR take the Outlaw class with his 3rd gen but it just was not to be. If he can get it worked out he should dominate easily!

I meet Marcos once in a Pan American event, he is a nice guy, and had a VERY clean setup in his race car. I really hope he breaks into the 6 seconds barrier soon!!
I think he didn't hit the low 7's like the other rotaries because of his setup. He was making more power than almost all of the others, but his car had a short wheelbase and wasn't set up for drag well. He could never get traction and it was fishtaly. He seems to be one of the leaders in power.

I agree with a post a few up... why doesn't someone who is corporate backed go nutz on a rotary? I mean like, what all the drag racers are doing, lots of rotor heads (well not lots but many) could do. Why not dump $50,000 into the engine, make it of high quality expensive alloys, and ****** make it go?

While I agree that someone should go crazy on a rotary you have to realize that getting that 50,000 engine to run correctly is going to cost $200,000 in failed efforts and development. We will see how marcos does with the 4 rotor setup.

Screw 4 go for 6 thats the only way the Rotor heads are even gunna get near touching these v-8 boys 7000hp monsters, And if thier race teams got the money to rebuild a big *** complete custom v-8 after every run, than someone can do it with 6 rotor, it just a takes bigger *****.

In all honesty we are not that far of if we are comparing similar classes. The Full Turbo chassis V8 domestic cars are running mid 6 seconds to 7 seconds. We are not that far off from them

Funny cars are a different story

I heard Abel is using some weird *** composite rotors. He will happilytell you about his setup but ask him what rotors and he gets all shy....

Just what I have heard....

They are always going to have something to keep quiet about. I'm sure they all have a little something that no one else know about.
