Siguel Racing 7.13@189mph!!!!

Jose Torres (Siguel Racing) just ran a 7.13@189mph making him the quickest pro import and Mazda rotary!
This was done during qualifying today at the NHRA Import race in Hosuton. He's got to back up the run to make it an official NHRA record though!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Eat that V8 RedNecks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!(scranton Brothers)

and Flaco tried running a 20B with no success
and I blame his $$ Motec system and he had to go back to a 13B and still did a 7.44 which in it self is not too shabby
I think the Key to Siguel consistant E.T's is the MicroTech ECU and the great tunning ability's of Anthony@MazTech

LOL, you think the motec was the problem? How about not knowing how to tune the motec with te 3 rotor. The green pro class FC is making 1300 plus horsepower using the motec with the 3 rotor engine. Its not the computer its the tuning. Stop trying to start a computer war again butthead

LoL that green FC is not even worth mentioning
It's slow compared to everyone else

Just watch out for Dennis the Menace from Miami
he got a 3-rotor CYM

WHAT?!?! That car is more of a terd than the Green FC. I was just oriving a point that its not just the computer than makes a car slow. If the Green FC could get a decent straight run.

Well it's been sometime since dennis has run the car
it has gone under construction and is now using a PP 20B

So well see how he does now

and I did not mean a computer makes it slow
but I think a particuler computer can make a race car more stable and less of a head ache too tune
(3 Rotor wise)

Flaco has alot $$$$$$$$$$ behind him
more so then siguel

Flaco has the resources to hire the World's Best Motec Tuner
So no excuses there

Don't blame the tools, son.

It's the wisdom and experience of engine tuning and the knowledge of 3-rotor mechanics, not just the hardware.

How did the rotaries do in the street class?
Sounds like Titan made a nice run with the Street Class Supra.

Cheers to Siguel racing!

I went to nhraimport.com when I first read this thread and on the front page was a story about Jose running 7.13. Now I can't find a damn mention of it anywhere?! Whats up with that?? Or am I just missing something....

Congratulations Siguel!!!
The numbers and achievements of this car all go to the determination of Jose Torres and his brother George! Lino Alessi and myself have been privelidged to be able to help wherever possible. They travel the circuit mostly on their own, and definitely on their own budget. It is good to see them getting on top of this clutch, and encouraging to see this result this early. I am confident now with the power he is making that new boundaries will be set.
Siguel can afford to use whatever unit he chooses and is definitely smart enough to tune any or all of them. We are just glad that he used a MTX12 Microtech to take car of his engine.
At 189.9mph Siguel has proved beyond any doubt that he can and does make the most power in the world out of a Rotary.
Well done!!!

That green FC (Pro) does make the power but he's always having drivetrain problems..it should run well.

Dennis the Menace !!! you're kidding !!!...what numbers has the car run ???? it was finished begining of 2001 then alot **** broke including that expensive Australian-built 20B....and it was already PPorted.
Now he takes the car to events trying to get sponsors, lines it up but doesn't run !!!
He was at E-town last wed night and he either blew the motor or flooded...after the burn out it died and never fired over again.

Abel was breaking rear plates...

Congrats to Siguel....6's should come soon and it better be a rotary !!!

This should really boost Siguel's ego now because after the Atco race he was very dissapointed and was seriously thinking about going back to PR! According to him it makes no sence trying to compete with millon dollar sponsored racers.
I know that Siguel's goal is to be the 1st to run in the 6's but he also have to start winning some races and get that sucker consistent. That's one way he can compete with the other racers and probably pick up a sponsor on the way too!
I hope he be the first in the 6-second zone!
That would be a great acheivement for everyone involve and also for the MAZDA ROTARY!!!!

I'm really happy for Siguel Racing. Yes, he was having problems with the clutch set up, but like Anthony said his determination has made the difference. CrisSpeed has a very good point, he needs to start winning or coming up in second place more often and stop worring about the 6 sec. ET. that way corporate america will pay him a visit. congrats to Siguel Racing.
