Hey all,
Spent a few hours this weekend going over the internals of my engine again. So far the damage is for sure :
All Seals and Gasket's
2 New Rotors ( the old ones were totally cooked Apex Seal grooves shot to hell, bits of Apex Seal emmbeded in the thrust surface Etc)
2 New housings ( Rest of old apex seals could be found here as well as sever scoring around the leading and trailing plugs )
Now i spent several hours checking every dimension of the side and intermediate housings. The Inter looks fine, once i clean it up a bit better it will be fine to use.
The End housings are my primary concern, I have inspected all dimensions and they are WELL within Mazda's tollerance, Only problem is there is some small chipping of the wall between water jacket and Coolant O Ring Groove, it is on the water jacket side but the wall is down very low in places.
I really want to build these back up with some Epoxy or something as 700$ just for this is gonna **** me off more than i would like especially since the running surfaces are in reasonable condition. but obviously i aint gonna want to blow the old 'head gaskett' a few hundred miles after i finish the work.
Here are some photo's to demonstrate the problem

The ones of main interest are the "Hous1-3" Pics...
Sorry i can't link direct, if anyone knows a better photo hosting site please let me know ( i attached a example on to this post) .
You will also notice that the Water jackets them selves have quiet a bit of corrosion in them, i will clean them up a lot better when i know im keeping them ( rest asured a cleaned the thrust faces dam well ), can this cause problems post rebuild ?
Please let me know your opinons or any experience you have had with this.
Appreciate any info.
All the best
Nico
