SERIOUSLY looking to swap the exhaust!

What up,
87 gxl with 85k. Got a friend with the tools and want to port this baby, gonna replace air filter and pulleys of course, maybe get some orced induction, but first of all, just picked her up two weeks ago and i need to upgrae the exhaust.

Now im planing on tuning this car, but it will be a street car, no a racer, and i dont think ill go over 400whp.
that being said i think the hks and greddy systems are a waste of money as i wont need that much flow.
I didnt know pacesetter was crap, thanks or the tip. Is racing beat the best option for the fc?
is there any way to replace the whole exhaust system and still keep it kinda quiet? I used to have a turbo supra and that S*it was LOUD, and i hear the fc is worse?
any ideas and advice, i dont want to spend all my $$ on the wrong stuf

NA rotaries are quite possibly the noisiest creations on earth.

RB exaust is pretty quiet and has a nice tone to it. Anything straight-through will be kinda on the loud side, espectally if you end up porting the exaust.

what about a presilecer infront of a cat? with rb headers and RB or borla catback?

I sold my supra about 5 months ago, it had a full Apexi exhaust,
I dont mind loud exhaust, i just dont want it to sound gay
like a bad civic and rattle and Sh*t

I want a nice rich deep sound (similar to the one it already has) I dont really care how loud it is

You will care about how loud it is. Your Supra was damned quiet compared to a *quiet* performance exhaust on a rotary.

Cat always goes first. RB exhausts are actually pretty quiet but they are more of a stock-replacement thing rather than a performance thing.

You can find a mechanic to run a straight pipe off the head, no cats, right up to a single out for about $80, add whatever muffler you want for its given price. You'll get the pattened "rotary" sound.
